Rock Chalk Podcast

We continue our Opponent Preview series with the Week 5 matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones. Today, Andy is joined by Levi Stevenson, Managing Editor of Wide Right & Natty Lite. They start with some realignment talk before diving into the Cyclones with a TON of other stuff. There is chat about how to understand player comps, how to evaluate a running back room, trying to get used to a left-handed quarterback, and how important offensive line improvement is going to be. Plus, there is a lot of defensive turnover and some big changes to the special teams. But how will all of that translate into game performances?

And of course, Levi doesn't miss an opportunity to talk some trash on some specific conference opponents.

Today we are taking a break from the Opponent Preview series to do one of those things we do during our summer episodes: talk about cool things that Andy found! Today, Andy welcomes Nicholas Allen of CFB Winning Edge onto the show to talk about his player rating system. It's another way to analyze players and teams, and the best part is it gives us an estimate for what video game ratings that individual players might get. They talk about how he came up with his ratings, what exactly they mean, and how you can use them to be a more knowledgeable fan. Plus, they look at some of the Jayhawks that have ranked highly in the system.

Andy welcomes Sam and Dustin of the Scott & Holman Pawdcast onto the show to get an early look at the Cougars. How did the announcement of joining the Big 12 affect last season? Our season finale concludes, as all of our guests return to give more of their biggest moments of the year! This episode looks across the Kansas Athletic Department to identify as many more big moments as we can find. Our season finale continues, as everyone from yesterday's episode returns to give more of their biggest moments of the year! This episode is packed with big moments from the Kansas Basketball team, and the only rule was that you had to pick something other than the Jayhawks winning the National Championship. Once again, somehow everyone managed to pick something different.

It's been a few weeks since the last episode, and a lot has happened in that time. NBA Draft Decisions were made, and the results have significantly effected next year's roster for the Kansas Jayhawks in basketball. Andy and Kyle dive deep into what we might be able to expect next season, plus some parallels between this year that just completed and what we should expect next year. Then Andy runs through some of the news surrounding the Olympic sports before he asks Kyle about why this Kansas Football offseason just FEELS different.
