  • Episode 16: ROCKOLLECTIONS: SOUND EFFECTS PT.4
These are simply the Best Sound Effects In Song I can think of in Our Music!Next up, a Sound that can be restful and romantic, as long as you don’t have to go out in it, lol!Tunes with the Sound Effects Of Rain! With an admission that walking in it can be nice too...sometimes!And if I were giving out an Oscar for Rain Sound Effects, the last song would get it!

The Academy Awards prompted this Series on Sound Effects In Song, even though Oscars were only given out for a very short time.I’ll pick up where I left off last week with Sounds Of The Sea.I have some Creaky Ships. And I’ll be playing an Alternate Version of a well-known song in here that has way more Sound Effects than the released version!Plus a nice Instrumental that you may have forgotten over the years. But even if you don’t know the Songs, you’ll know the Sounds!Unless you live in the Desert!

Continuing a New Series on Sound Effects In Song, the next classification is Sounds Of The City!In a rare case of me playing the Hits, you should know ALL the songs for this stop along the waAnd it should be pointed out, not all City Sounds are Beautiful Noises, lol! After the City, a move out onto Water and a start to Sound Effects Of The Sea- the Ocean, Surf, Boats, Bells, Horns, Seagulls, etc. These will be continued next week.Who needs Hollywood when we have Rock & Roll?

The Academy Awards are March 2nd, do you care?I don’t!I did play a couple of Movie songs anyway. But I found it interesting they only gave out Oscars for Sound Effects from 1963 to 1967, and again in 1975!Now it is called Sound Editing or Sound Mixing. So for real Sound Effects I turned to Our Music, not having seen any of those Movies anyway...or even know the Presenters, lol!It became quickly apparent these Song Sound Effects can be classified by Type.So to begin a New Series, I'll start with Sound Effects For Cars! This will be fun!

  • Episode 16: ROCKOLLECTIONS: FREE FORM #9 PT.2
Alright, here's why I played Melanie's Tell Me Why.While looking through songs to play next I saw another Tell Me Why!And I started thinking of other tunes named Tell Me Why- all completely different songs! So I said why not play some, beginning with an old scratchy 45 by a Group from The Bronx? And I filled the 2nd Half with them, though I cheated just a teeny bit!Radio Free Form Shows are always a bit risky.Although I record the Show, I do so as if Live, once committed to something there is no going back, no changing my mind, no do overs!Plus they are iffy, they really do reflect my mood at the time of recording. If I do this Chapter the next day, it undoubtedly goes in another direction. That's the Beauty and Bane of Free Form Radio, what you do can be successful or come crashing down, there's no Net!Give a listen, you might like it or at least find it interesting, lol!

After a Series, it's always nice to have a Good Old Fashioned Free Form Radio Show. And I will finally play an Opening Set I have wanted to play for years.Because it is Free Form, every time I sat down to start a show the thought would elude me, but it's a great Set if I say so myself, with the same thread holding the songs together!Moving on, a forgotten tune done by Carole King, and off we go.And I'll end this Opening Half with a question about why I played the last song?I'll answer that in Part Two.Do join me for a listen to this start of Free Form Show #9!
