Brian Mavis has worked on staff at several churches, yet left Pastoral ministry in order to pursue his spiritual calling.  He began an inspiring personal journey with his wife and kids as they began fostering children through the local social services system.  Throughout the years, they have fostered 9 children and now have had 4 foster "grand-children" as his kids have followed in his footsteps.  However, Brian felt called to equip followers of Jesus to flood the foster care system in order to help eliminate the wait time for children to be placed in nurturing homes.  He is now the President of America's Kids Belong and they have expanded into 10 different states across the country.  Brian's story continues to be an inspiration of how God can use what we have to make a life-changing difference in our communities.

It's our worst fear to lose someone we love.  In todays episode, we share an interview with Erle and Helen as they discuss their experience with that very thing.   For many of us, we can only imagine how we will respond when something tragic happens, but today we are able to learn what healing can look like.  It rarely follows a similar path from one person to another, but one thing is clear.  Hope is possible. Not only that, but Joy and Grief are not mutually exclusive.  There can be moments of joy while we grieve the loss of those that we love.  Helen and Erle share about how their faith has been and continues to be vital in the journey of healing.
