  • Directors Cut, Take 1

In our final installment of Directors Cut, we agree there is only one person in our opinions to hold the title and that would be none other than Quentin Tarantino. A man who has such a love for film and storytelling, piecing together some of our favorite stories to ever make it to the big screen. Whether it be his set designs, camera work, incredible dialogue, or characters themselves there is no one else like him. As Brad Pitt once said in an interview, "Tarintino's script is the bible, and he is God at what he does"

  • HeadHunters

A Headhunter for a large corporation just so happens to fuel his wealth by stealing and replacing priceless art, meets his match. In an incredible game of cat and mouse, Roger runs for his life as a special operations veteran named Clas tracks him down all while still trying to keep his life from falling apart. An adrenaline-filled film that will keep you on the edge of your seat of what happens next. The key to everything starts with the letter "R"...Reputation.

  • Directors Cut, Take 2

As we continue on our journey to our top Director, we take a pit stop at our second favorites and discuss what we love about them. Guillermo Del Toro is up first as we talk about his gothic style, masterful practical effects, and war based fairy tales. Following this, we discuss the work of the great Paul Thomas Anderson. A master of pacing as well as being able to bring out great performances from some of the best in Hollywood. Listen as we talk about what these men do best by rolling back the curtain, loading in fresh film and yelling "take 2!"

  • Children Of Men

A dystopian world is displayed in the most unique way as people have become infertile, from this there appears to grow war and conflict in its place. A former activist looks to escort a woman who is actually pregnant across England to a boat known as "The Tomorrow". Beautiful long shots and impressive camera work take this film to a whole other level as the background and environment truly become a character themselves. We dissect this film piece by piece as we ask, what can we do to survive? "Just don't think about it"

  • Directors cut, Take 3

Once again we take the time to discuss our top 5 favorite Directors. For this, we are discussing Martin Scorsese, the master of some of the best Gangster movies ever made with some of his work being Goodfellas, Wolf of Wallstreet, and Taxi Driver. Many would say that this man shaped their childhood. Following him, we discuss Sam Raimi, the first man to create a Comic Book trilogy in the Tobey Maguire Spiderman trilogy. Furthermore, the man who created the Evil Dead franchise holding a special place in our hearts as what sparked our friendship. Top 3 Directors as we set up the lights, man the camera and take 3!

  • Logan

An unstoppable weapon cut down by the inevitable fate of time itself. Logan is an R rated comic book film done correctly. Following Logan, otherwise known as Wolverine, in the future when the fight for mutant rights is as extinct as they themselves and a diminishing healing factor. What is essentially an escort mission to save a young girl with very similar abilities, Logan journies across the country to deliver his final stand in a brutal way and reclaim what it means to be an X-Men.

  • Directors Cut, Take 4

Continuing our lists of our top 5 directors, we begin today with John Carpenter. A true master of horror and the creator of some of the best films of the 80's including Zach's top favorite movie in The Thing and other classics as the infamous Halloween which sparked a genre of slasher films. Followed by Yorgos Lanthimos, the creator of some of the most unique and thought-provoking films. To name a few, one of Frank's favorite movies of 2017 in The Killing of a Sacred Deer and The lobster. Films with such a grand ending that make you sit and think for days on end. Lights, Camera...Take 4!

  • Fight Club

For the first time in our podcast, we are unable to talk about this film. The first rule of Fight Club is, YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB. A very iconic line to an even more iconic film as a man who has lost everything finds himself living with a man who needs nothing. A Film with a fantastic twist even to today's standards that focuses more on a deeper meaning of commercialism and society's structure itself, rather than fighting. An amazing story that not even "Jack's unbridled rage" could hate.

  • Directors Cut, Take 5

The movies that we love and cherish would be nothing without the men and women behind the camera itself. In a new mini-series, every Friday for the next month we will be counting down our top 5 favorite directors and why. An insightful new series that will give way for laughter, debating and possible fistfights if unable to agree. Quiet on the set, que the lights and....action!

  • Almost Famous

"Music is the purest and most genuine form of expression". A phrase that is very true to this film as we follow a young journalist for the Rolling Stones magazine on a journey with the band Still Water to write a story while on tour. A film with a sincere message for Rock and Roll fans does stray at times from its ultimate goal. Nevertheless, leaves a lasting impression with a famous music scene and always stays "honest and merciless".
