  • They Live

John Carpenter's "They Live" is a silly film that attempts to attack real social issues. The concept, a drifter by the name of Nada finds himself in the middle of a city that is completely overthrown by aliens. Thing is, he's the only one who can see them. How you ask? Well with a very special pair of sunglasses of course! When Nada finds them he can see the world for what it truly is. Billboards, magazines and even the food in your own grocery stores show what the intentions of the people who make them truly are. A John Carpenter social satire on the Ronald Regan era. Oh, and also a lot of gun shooting, exceptionally choreographed fight scenes and some truly poetic 1980's one-liners. Now my friends, who is ready to chew bubblegum and kick some ass?

  • Good Time

Robert Pattinson has steered clear from his Twilight years. Building up a very impressive resumè of independent films, one of which is Good Time. The Safdie Brothers "Good Time" is a prime example of what a compelling actor can do with an impressive script. In probably Robert Pattinson's best career performance, we follow him (Connie) on a twisted odyssey to break his mentally handicapped brother out of prison from a bank robbery gone wrong. Connie is a desperate and immoral man who truly believes that he is the best person to steer his brother's life. This is a film that is so tremendously acted and so masterfully shot that it feels as if you're truly watching a documentary of a man's life falling apart in the course of one night. Needless to say, we cant wait to see what the Safdie Brother's do next (Uncut Gems) and what kind of roles Pattinson takes on in the future.

  • The Lighthouse

There appears to be some enchantment in the light in Robert Eggers's sophomore film The Lighthouse. Two lighthouse keepers played by Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe are tasked with cleaning for a month on a small island. As time goes on the lines become blurred of what is real and what is merely an imagination as madness slowly takes over. A dark past, a mermaid, and a one-eyed seagull shed some light on what could be waiting for them up in that tower. Listen as Zach and Frank discuss the new film and learn why you should never spill your beans.
