This episode of Obscura Podcast delves into the chilling and dark tale of Ronald Dominique, a serial killer from Louisiana who brutally murdered at least 23 men from 1997 to 2006. The victims were primarily from low income backgrounds, often had criminal records and were targeted for their vulnerability. Dominique, who identified as gay, used the pretense of offering money for sex or showing a picture of a woman claiming she wanted to have sex with a man, to lure his victims.

Once the victims were not conscious, he would sexually assault them and then strangle them to death. His actions struck a heavy blow to the LGBTQI+ community in small towns like Houma and Thibodeau. Dominique was finally arrested in December 2006 and is currently serving eight consecutive life sentences at the Louisiana State Penitentiary. The episode is a tragic recount of a dark chapter in southern US history.
