During the 2023 Producer Roaster Forum, Nick and Ricardo joined a panel with Julia Peixoto of Peixoto Coffee and Lucas Cuadros of Unblended Coffee to discuss the Generational Age Gap that is present among Colombian coffee producers. Together, they explore Julia's experience working closer with her family's farm in Brazil as well as some of the challenges that Colombian coffee producers are facing with a lack of young coffee producers involved at the farm level. With Unblended's work with young coffee producers, the group outlines some solutions that could potentially alleviate these challenges.

Anne Cooper is a coffee consultant based in Australia. Anne's career has taken her across the US and Australia and has gained extensive knowledge across the entire supply chain. Anne is also world-renowned master coffee roaster. During this episode, we speak with Anne about Australian coffee production as well as the various challenges that coffee roasters face from initial growth phases to established roasteries.

Matthew Torres is the Founder of Long Beach Coffee Club, a coffee community platform to bring accessible education to coffee consumers. He is also the Founder of Familiar Coffee, a specialty coffee decaf brand. We discussed what intrigued him about the world of decaf, some barriers that daily coffee consumers face, and how to make flavor profiles more accessible to coffee consumers.

Bram de Hoog is on an continuous journey of curiosity in the world of coffee. For the last seven years he has travelled around the coffee producing world and connected with hundreds of producers working for Ally Coffee as buyer and sourcing manager. In his work, he pursued the objective of co-creating and sharing value with all supply chain actors, successfully growing a network of mutual benefit and exponential growth around the world. After five years with Ally Coffee, Bram has now moved back to his homeland in Europe to continue the journey of curiosity and take a deep dive in the world of coffee roasting.

With Bram's experience as a green coffee buyer, he counts multiple stories and challenges he's faced professionally and has experienced on a systemic level across the industry. We'll discuss those challenges, his approach to tackling these challenges, and Bram's next moves as a coffee professional.

During the 2023 Producer Roaster Forum, we had the privilege of speaking with Dale Harris. Dale is the 2017 World Barista Champion and the host of his very own Masterclass. After years of of traveling and competing in coffee, Dale has become a renowned leader in the coffee industry. Dale brings an interesting perspective to the various challenges we face when evaluating coffee not only in professional settings but also in competition.

During the 2023 Ally Open Summit in Brazil, we had the privilege of sitting down with Morgan Eckroth to chat about various challenges baristas and coffee competitors face. Morgan is the 2022 US Barista Champion and a Content Specialist at Onyx Coffee Lab. Morgan has grown an impressive digital presence over the past few years with over 6 million followers across various platforms all while focusing a significant amount of time into competing. We also touch on how Morgan has been able to balance managing content with so many followers.

Diego Campos is the 2021 World Barista Champion and Brand Ambassador at Cafe Amor Perfecto. He owns Diego Campos Coffee in Garzón, Huila and produces coffee in Huila, as well. Diego discusses the challenges our industry faces with egoism, baristas entering competition, and the way we portray coffee producers in the market.

Yannis Apostolopoulos is the CEO of the Specialty Coffee Association and also serves as a board director for World Coffee Events and the Coffee Science Foundation. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the beverage industry. He is also a Q-Grader and an AST. We discuss about how we currently value coffee and how we can improve our valuing systems as well as what the future of specialty coffee and sustainability.

During World of Coffee Athens, we had the privilege of speaking with Trish Rothgeb. Trish is the co-founder and roast master at Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters, a Q-Grader, and an educator based in San Francisco, California. She tells us about her journey in coffee and how she coined the term Third Wave Coffee as well as how she sees the future of coffee. Throughout the episode, she also discusses some problems in coffee that she has faced with some solutions.
