What does it mean to follow after Jesus? Don't mistake the question for asking how you feel it should be. This episode answers the question, what does it look like to follow after the Savior." The answer to that question should be one that requires us to search ourselves and make sure we are not as the crowd who wants Jesus without the cost of repentance. The answer may require we deny ourselves, so that we may have true freedom and eternal life.

What do you think of when you think of bread? We often do not think about it in the same way that John's first century audience did. Another thought from this text is when do we take the Bible literally? We see that first, bread was a staple food, that was life sustaining and important to survival, much different from our add on idea of bread. We will next see that we take the Bible literally, literally, when it is meant to be literal. Listen to the episode and I promise that is explained. The chapter closes with Peter making the bold statement that all earthly things pale in comparison to knowing Jesus who is the only source of eternal life.

Where do you find your must satisfaction in this life? Is it food, material things, music, or maybe the things that Jesus can do for you? Or is it Jesus Himself. Jesus must be what we are most satisfied with. We see that the crowd in this chapter follows Jesus because of the signs and later because they think that He can keep feeding them, but when he offers them true bread of heaven through believing in Him they are taken aback. We will be? Are we finding our truest satisfaction in life in Jesus? Join me as we explore John chapter 6.

So many of us would admit that it is easy to know things about the Bible without knowing the God of the Bible. But if we truly believe the words we read, then we will find Jesus there. Knowing Jesus will forever change the way we read the Scriptures, see the people around us, and how we practice our very faith. Will you heed the call of the Savior to not merely pour over the Scriptures but to know Jesus of the Scripture? To believe in him is where true hope is found, true life. In fact our only hope for life, everlasting life.

In this passage we will see that Jesus is sovereign over life and death. We will see our themes of believe and life in this passage. In this passage we have to seek to understand what Jesus means when He says to the man whose son is dying, "Unless this people see signs and wonders, they will not believe." Finally I want you to consider what it looks like to believe in Jesus. Look at the account of the Samaritan woman and this man. Two people from two different walks of life, both people believe in Jesus and we see this walked out in front of us the audience. Join me in John chapter 4:46-54.

We see in this chapter what kind of people Jesus sought after. Spoilers, it wasn't perfect people, but broken people. We also see that worshiping God will not be done in specific places but where ever His worshipers are. Are we worshiping God everywhere we go? Are we looking for the harvest all around us?

We enter part two of John 3. We explore what it looks like to follow Jesus. We also see that Jesus is the only one who can save. Without Jesus, we are still under the wrath of God. But God who is rich in mercy sends the Son and that by believing in Him we may have eternal life and dwell with God and God with us.
