Early on in Roscoe's acting career, he performed with the New York Shakespeare Festival and the New Federal Theater. He made his film debut as the title character Willie in the 1973 blaxploitation film Willie Dynamite and acted in projects like Sanford and Son, Law & Order, The Wire, Last Resort and more. Most people may know Roscoe best for playing the role of the human character Gordon Robinson on Sesame Street since 1974. During his Sesame days, he appeared in countless episodes, home videos and web videos, as well as his own segment, Trash Gordon!
