We’ll be taking a tour of an unnamed secret town that is crammed with musicians of all stripes. In this town, generally the Streets run East-West and the Avenues run North-South; and there are a few roads and boulevards thrown in that cut diagonally across the grid as in any town, but every time we turn a corner, we are transported to a different year in history. After we somehow make our way back to Eastport, we’ll listen to Richard Diamond, Private Detective solve the Blind Man And The Cop Killer Case!

Loosen your belts because Round the World with Cracklin’ Jane is putting on a 5-course gourmet meal of food and hospitality. We’ll be serving up hors d’oeuvres, soup, fish, meat and potatoes with many delectable side dishes, and end with ice cream and hot coffee. Then, Richard Diamond, Private Detective, solves the Ruby Idol case.

Belly up to your place at the card table because today we will be playing with a full deck. Up our sleeve is an exploration of the different kinds of royalty that inhabit our universe, namely, the various kings and queens to be found in our voluminous collection of 78 RPM recordings. We’ll throw in a bunch of Jacks and Aces too so that the hands we are dealt will require no bluffing in the game of life.

Round the World with Cracklin’ Jane looks at Ghosts, Graveyards, and Skeletons. We’re going to scare the living daylights out of you – or die trying. You’ll be shaking so hard you won’t be able to turn the dial without knocking the radio over. You’ll sleep with the lights on for the next two weeks – if you can sleep at all. Then, we’ll listen to the scariest radio drama ever broadcast: Three Skeleton Key, starring Vincent Price, about three guys trapped in a lighthouse!

Round the World with Cracklin’ Jane looks at Errors, Mistakes, Failures and Regrets. We’ll also see a few Happy Accidents. All in Cracklin’ 78 RPM Quadraphonic Hi-fidelity. Then, we’ll listen to Richard Diamond, Private Detective in “Butchers and Protection Racket”!

Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day by honoring musicians of indigenous background. Along with historical field recordings of traditional music of various tribes, and popular music inspired by Native American themes (Princess Watahwaso, Penobscot mezzo-soprano), we will honor contributors to the evolution of jazz, including Mildred Bailey (Coeur d’Alene of Idaho) and Big Chief Russell Moore (Pima in Arizona)

The apple trees are heavy with fruit, and soon the roadsides will be replete with profusions of apples that have been mashed under passing truck tires. Every abandoned farm for hundreds of miles around is host to ancient apple trees still churning out long-forgotten varieties. Round the World with Cracklin’ Jane listens to ancient 78 RPM recordings of songs about Apples. We’ll hear apple songs from all over the world, including Poland, France, The Netherlands, Japan, Mexico, Canada and the US, with recordings from 1905 to the early 1950’s. Then, Richard Diamond, Private Detective solves the Stolen Purse case!

Instead of reading some dusty old history books, Round the World with Cracklin’ Jane listens to old 78 RPM records of songs about housing woes. We’ll learn about the post-WW II housing crisis, the rent and eviction crisis and homelessness during the Great Depression, overcrowding resulting from moving rural families to the city to look for work, and even the phenomenon of having to sleep in the dog house after coming home drunk.
