Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and’30s.
Do you know what the word porcine means? Of, affecting or resembling a pig. In the case of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records, not just any pig, but America’s favorite pantless pig, Porky Pig. The last segment of the show celebrates the release by Warner Brothers Archive of a 5 DVD set of 101 Porky Pig cartoon shorts. I got mine and hope you’ll support restoration and preservation projects like this by getting your own copy and/or buying a set or sets as gifts. We’ll also take a musical trip to Spain, have an ice cold set, find out about who doesn’t like what and hear about the WPA (Works Progress Administration). Per usual, there are at least a couple of records making their RRR debut. If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email. And remember, your requests and topic segments are always welcome. As always, just click on the link below to instantly listen streaming online and/or download the show.
Enjoy the show!
