July used to be Alex's favourite month. It was his birthday month, and the month of his fiancée Kelly's birthday. It was also the month where they celebrated their anniversary. Two years after her death, it is now a month to endure. But in order to keep Kelly's memory alive, he makes his annual pilgrimage to the coast with the kids.
It is also week four of his half marathon training and he is due to run his first 10k in six years. Will he succeed? Is he losing weight? Could his resolve be derailed by the inexorable weight of life and responsibility?

Recently-widowed single dad Alex doesn't recognise himself in the mirror anymore. He had been in a relationship with his fiancée Kelly for five years and nine months, and in that time he had: got engaged, moved 150 miles away, become a dad, changed careers, bought a house, become bereaved.
Is he the same man he was when he first met Kelly, or have the years changed him forever? How does he find himself again? Well, to do that, he'll need to lean on a buddy.

Two years after Alex's fiancée died, his only solace has been running. Whether it's running into the countryside and weeping where no-one can see, or taking the kids with him in the double buggy.
But significant weight gain has meant he's slower than ever, and can no longer run a 5k non-stop. Something needs to change, and luckily his sister Laura has offered him a challenge which could be the turning point.
He signs up to run a half marathon with less than two months to prepare. Will he falter? Or will young hearts run free?

In 2021 Alex Regan had lost 30lbs before he turned 30, completed the Couch to 5k, had a hit running podcast, and was living with his fiancée.
It's now 2026 and Alex is a single dad of two, nearly 20 stone and coming to terms with the death of his fiancée, and the mother of his children.
The show explores widowhood, being a single parent, and trying to find joy after loss.
Episode one where we go from here and how we got to this point. It all started 4pm some idle Tuesday.
