Have you ever used something that it wasn't intended for? Or have you ever tried to use something but your method was far from proper? Well, Pastor Eddie will explain today that we have the right purpose, and it's important that we follow the instructions of the one that created us. God can do beautiful things when we submit to his plan, and humbly surrender to his well-trained hands.

Thinking of your relationship with Jesus as a walk is a great picture for us to hold onto. How we walk, where we walk, what we do along the walk, and who we walk with, are all factors in where we will end up. Pastor Eddie will be diving into 1 Thessalonians 4 today and will challenge us to walk alongside God and to live a life focused on pleasing Him. Jesus said that the greatest commandment was to love God with all our heart soul mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. When we fail to love our neighbor, we are sinning against God and our neighbor. Pastor Eddie will show us, our best attempts to fill the law will always fall short. It's not just hard to love, it's impossible! That's why we need God to live in us so that his love can work through us.

When we come into this world, we meet our family for the very first time. When we are born again, and become children of God, then we get an entirely new family! Pastor Eddie shares that the connection we have with one another in the spirit goes even deeper than blood. If you loved your church family like you love your earthly family, what would change? Others will know us for our love for one another!

The Apostle Paul as he was traveling, and sharing the Gospel, was witnessing God's kingdom being established as more and more people began to believe. The fellowship and family that was created in those early days of Christianity were special, and Pastor Eddie shows us how important it is for us to get together with fellow believers. We will also get a glimpse at the relationship between Paul and his close disciple, Timothy.

Are you experiencing persecution and hatred from the world? Why? Is it because you’re standing by-laws and religious rituals? Is it because you’re siding with political groups that aren’t mainstream? Or is it because you’re following Jesus and sharing His Truth and love? As Pastor Eddie will point out in today’s message when you truly follow Christ, it’s going to be fully counter-cultural, and despite your best efforts, you will make enemies.

We need humility to follow Christ. He’s a gracious Savior, but one thing that can never stay in His presence is sinful pride. You must lay down your own agendas and confidence in your strength and capabilities. As Pastor Eddie will challenge us in today’s message, if you want to grow and be successful in God’s Kingdom, it requires humbling yourself and submitting fully to the guidance and correction of the Holy Spirit.

God prefers to use those who are humble. When He sent His Son into the world, He didn’t choose the wealthiest, most powerful family to provide comfort and safety. He chose a humble virgin, engaged to be married. Women were very second-rate citizens at that time, especially unmarried women, yet that’s who God chose to bring His Son into the world. Today, Pastor Eddie will remind us that God loves and uses the least among us for His purposes.

You can’t save anyone. Billy Graham didn’t save anyone. The Apostle Paul didn’t even save anyone. Jesus alone saves. Even the most revered evangelists and pastors are simply vessels that God uses to pour out His grace on humanity. This should take a lot of pressure off of you. As Pastor Eddie will explain in today’s message, all you can do is share the truth of Jesus, and everything after that is up to Him and the listener.

God allows His Children to experience suffering and trials. Don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise. But there’s a difference between Him inflicting it and simply allowing it. There is some controversy in the Church over the timeline of when the rapture will happen, but as Pastor Eddie will explain in today’s message, God won’t inflict His wrath on those who have already accepted Him, and He’ll spare us from the tribulation.
