Berkman: the U.S. Forest Service (along with FEMA and the US Fire Academy) came to Ground Zero to help FDNY with the large incident command challenges (not the “US Fire Service”); and 37 Port Authority Police died on 9/11, as well as many additional non-police Port Authority employees.
