Martín (https://martinzaraman.com/) is a Spanish-born poet and musician who moved to Iceland from Spain in 2005. He's just published Hiel · Sips of Gall, a bilingual poetry book (in Spanish and English), with an accompanying album called Desgarro y Melancolía (Volume I) (https://album.link/MartinZaraman-Hiel-Volumen1) on the Icelandic label Ecos Boreales.

Martín told Darren about his journey to Iceland, how Iceland feeds into his work, and how a (still) secret place in the country helps him find himself.

Today on RÚV English Radio, the singer and musician bridging Iceland and Greece.

Nina Basdras ([email protected]) is a Greek singer and musician living in Iceland. She has recorded an album called Nani together with Icelandic guitarist Ásgeir Ásgeirsson - a collection of traditional Greek lullabies arranged for voice and guitar.

The album was inspired by her Greek-Icelandic son and the experience of raising a child between two cultures and languages. It combines Greek musical tradition with Icelandic acoustic music.
