The pop, rock, hip hop and electronic Album Of The Year at this year's Icelandic Music Awards is Ungfrú Ísland by Kvikindi - but if you want to buy a copy on vinyl and truly immerse yourself in its spikily eclectic yet melodic luxuries, you're out of luck.

At least, so far.

Kvikindi, the duo of Brynhildur Karlsdóttir and Friðrik Margrétar-Guðmundsson, have launched a crowdfunder with Karolina Fund. They want to expand their prize-winning album's horizons beyond the world of streaming, and release it on vinyl. You can pledge for a copy of the record, a t-shirt, a signed lyric book or even a private concert by the band. (If the target isn't hit, you don't pay a krona.)

Brynhildur joins Darren to talk about the album, the success of the band so far, the appeal of vinyl and how that physical record might come into being with the help of supporters.

Today, Darren's guest on The RÚV English Podcast is film historian, writer and teacher Oddný Sen, who along with her work at the Icelandic Film School, is the project manager of film education in primary and secondary schools at Reykjavík's iconic cinema Bíó Paradís.

She studied film studies, film history and filmmaking at the University of Paris and graduated with a master's degree and a PhD.

She talks to Darren about teaching the secrets of cinema, and some of the best and biggest Icelandic films of recent years.

Every week, the foreign news desk here at RÚV produces a radio program, and a podcast, about foreign affairs and world events. The programme is called HEIMSKVIÐUR, and is broadcast on Rás 1 on Saturday afternoons.

Recently, Björn Malmquist, one of the presenters on that show, former The Week In Iceland guest, and RÚV's Brussels-based correspondent, spoke to Rachel King, Curator of the European Renaissance and the Waddesdon Bequest at the British Museum in London. In 2019, a heart shaped pendant was found in Warwickshire by metal detectorist Charlie Clarke. What he had discovered was a huge and spectacular early Tudor pendant and chain, made in gold and enamel and bearing the initials and symbols of Henry VIII and his first wife, Katherine of Aragon.

Rachel told Björn about the pendant, and its incredible discovery.
