The good you do remains with you but the bad you do comes back to haunt you. At God's children, we are called to do good for the sake of doing good and not necessarily because of what is in it for us. While people may not appreciate our generosity, it never escapes God's attention. The Shunnamite woman helped Elisha without expecting anything in return but her generosity never escaped God's attention.

Genorosity is a popular topic in the scriptures. The need for showing mercy and being hospital is part of the biblical culture and is still relevant in our days even in the face of abuses, misuses and heartaches that good hearted people go through. We should purpose never to be overcome by evil but to always overcome evil with good.
