Ryan Watson, MTNTOUGH’s new Chief Marketing Officer, was born and raised in Missoula, Montana, on a steady diet of hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. An avid martial artist, Watson has competed nationally in Olympic-style Taekwondo in high school and as a college athlete at the University of Montana.
Prior to his new role, Watson served as Director of Growth Marketing and Marketing Engineering at onX. He joined onX as an entry-level digital marketing specialist after college. He spent seven years with the company, using his knowledge and expertise to make major impacts on the business’s bottom line and to meet strategic goals. During his tenure at onX, Watson mastered mobile growth marketing strategies and marketing engineering to help propel onX’s growth to one of the biggest and highest-grossing outdoor app companies in the world. Over the last four years, onX increased its annual recurring revenues 10x while growing its team by more than 300%. During this time, Watson was in charge of building out the onX growth marketing teams and managing the largest budget in the company aside from payroll. His teams were responsible for direct performance marketing attribution of 40% of overall membership growth.
