  • RYM 2016 HSFL2 Jacob Morrison Day 3

“Living as a Christian with Anxiety & Depression”
    Teacher: Jacob Morrison

Have you ever experienced that feeling? The feeling of utter despair? You feel alone or misunderstood. It is like you are drowning, and everyone is throwing you anvils instead of a life jacket. Here is the thing: everyone is going to experience the feeling of anxiety or depression at some point in their life. So how should you respond when it happens to you? How do you 24 respond when it happens to your friends? The good news is that the Bible offers more than the never helpful comment, “Just don’t be anxious.” In fact, Scripture shows us that part of living in a post-Fall world is struggling with these issues. Come and learn how we as Christians should think about these complex issues, provide help to those who are suffering, and see what the Bible says about giving hope to those in the midst of sorrow.

  • RYM 2016 HSFL2 Adam Comeens Day 3
    “Knowing the Unknowable God”
    Teacher: Adam Comeens

Taylor and Ed sang it best: “I just wanna know you better, know
you better, know you better now….” While couples certainly need
to know each other well before entering a relationship,
worshipers of God need to know the Creator even more vitally
than couples need to know each other. Why? Knowing who God
is and His attributes affects how we live on this side of eternity.
A.W. Pink said, “An unknown God can neither be trusted,
served, nor worshiped.” If this is true, and if we were made to
do exactly those things, then knowing God becomes extremely
important. This elective will explore the attributes of the Creator.
We will discuss God’s perfection, His knowledge, His
supremacy, and His holiness among other attributes with the
goal of encouraging you to greater faithfulness in serving and
    worshiping God.

  • RYM 2016 HSFL1 Shawn Slate Day 2

    “Changing Your World”
    Teacher: Shawn Slate; Location

Every high school, college and graduate school seems to want to train leaders to change the world. The pressure to make a difference and do something that "matters" is squeezing all of us. But have you stopped to even ask the question, "Should we change the world." And if we should, what would that change look like in light of Christ's rule over all things. In this seminar, we want to think about three things "Why should we care about the world? How is the World is Changing us? What might change look like in our lives?
