  • RYM 2016 HSCO AJ Swanson Day 3

“How to Keep Your (i)Phone from Becoming (i)dolatry: Connecting Theology & Technology”
    Teacher: AJ Swanson

You are a digital native. You have always lived in a world where information and connection are a few steps or buttons away. Technology though is a tool - a tool to receive information and connection. The question for the digital native is, when do you stop using the tool, and the tool starts using you? As Christians, how can we use tools to further the kingdom of God?

  • RYM 2016 MSFL Matthew Icard Day 1
    “Lies We Love To Believe”
    Teacher: Matthew Icard

Everybody hates being lied to, right? But what if I told you that
you’re actually being lied to every single day of your life? The
reality is that we live in a world and a culture that is full of
deception. We even lie to ourselves on a regular basis! And the
really scary part? We love the lies. In this breakout, we will look
at many of the lies that we believe about our identity, our
purpose, our relationships, and our salvation. We’ll also look at
the ways in which the Word of God and the gospel bring us light,
freedom, and life in the midst of deception.

  • RYM 2016 MSFL Kurt Cooper Day 3

    “The Friend Zone”
    Teacher: Kurt Cooper

Does bae just want to be friends? First of all, you should stop using bae, it’s played out and that’s probably half the problem right there. Second, we can show you how to finally escape the friend zone! Ha! There is no escape from the friend zone and you’ll be alone forever. Just kidding. Do you already have a boyfriend or girlfriend and looking to upgrade? Too bad! The one you have is way out of your league anyway. You should just be thankful they haven’t come to their senses yet. Joking aside, relationships are big part of middle school. How do we take our faith and apply it to our relationships? Whether you’re already in a relationship or still waiting on the right one to come along, come join us and let’s see what Christ has to say about relationships, dating, marriage and the rest.
