  • RYM 2016 MSFL Kurt Cooper Day 1
    “The Friend Zone”
    Teacher: Kurt Cooper

Does bae just want to be friends? First of all, you should stop
using bae, it’s played out and that’s probably half the problem
right there. Second, we can show you how to finally escape the
friend zone! Ha! There is no escape from the friend zone and
you’ll be alone forever. Just kidding. Do you already have a
boyfriend or girlfriend and looking to upgrade? Too bad! The one
you have is way out of your league anyway. You should just be
thankful they haven’t come to their senses yet. Joking aside,
relationships are big part of middle school. How do we take our
faith and apply it to our relationships? Whether you’re already in
a relationship or still waiting on the right one to come along,
come join us and let’s see what Christ has to say about
relationships, dating, marriage and the rest.

  • RYM 2016 MSFL JonPaul Watson Day 3

    “The Story of Everything”
    Teacher: JonPaul Watson

How did we get here? What are we made for? What went wrong? Is there any hope? Our lives are filled with deep questions of existence, purpose, and belonging. This class will look at how the Bible talks about our lives (why are we here, why the world is full of beauty and pain, and how we can have hope in the midst of pressure, confusion, and insecurity). Come join us as we look at the narrative of scripture, the story of everything.

  • RYM 2016 MSFL John Perritt Day 3

“How Do I Honor God with My Technology?”
    Teacher: John Perritt

The psalmist says, "The EARTH is the Lord's and the fullness thereof...", which tells us that all of creation belongs to the Creator. We often think of creation as including trees, mountains, oceans, plant life, humans and the animal kingdom. While this is true, Scripture gives us a broader view of creation. It is definitely those things just listed, but it is so much more. Movies, music, iPhones, the Internet, Instagram, and anything else you encounter on a daily basis was placed in your path by the sovereign Creator. The earth belongs to God; therefore, it is 16 good. Technology is a good gift from God, but it becomes something less than honoring when it gets in the hands of sinners. This class will help you appreciate the good gift of technology, and also help you deal with the temptations that often accompany it. Come join us as we look at technology and temptation.

  • RYM 2016 HSCO Scott Lowe Day 3

“HELP WANTED! HELP AVAILABLE – The Spirit”
    Teacher: Scott Lowe

If you are like me, there are so many times I think … HELP! When Jesus told his disciples that he was not always going to be with them - they freaked out. But then Jesus told the disciples that he was not leaving them without the Holy Spirit. The 3rd person of the Trinity! The Spirit is a gift. He is a gift for believers. He is one who convicts, convinces and comforts our hearts! How are you struggling? Do you feel like a wreck? Do you feel alone? Do you struggle with your relationships? Do you struggle with the Christian life? In this class we will study the gift of the Holy Spirit to our lives! We don’t have to go get Him, we have been given him when we became Christians! Join me as we consider the Holy Spirit.

  • RYM 2016 MSFL Buck Rogers Day 3

“I Don’t Care What You Think”
    Teacher: Buck Rogers

Why do we care so much about what others think about us? Do you find yourself wanting to impress people and craving their approval? Do you feel like you have to wear a mask or be something different in order to be accepted by others? These questions have much more to do with ourselves than others... they force us to look in the mirror and face who we really are. This class will help you look deep inside to consider who you really are, and how God is redeeming you so that you only need His approval and affirmation!
