“10 Ways To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse”
    Teacher: Billy Meenan

Sorry, this class isn't about actual zombies, but it is about survival! We live in a society that wants to devour our brains. Everywhere you look there is something or someone trying to convince you to think and believe a certain way. Sometimes it is difficult to hear the truth when it is being drowned out by all the mindless noise. God knew that this is the world we would live in and he hasn't left us to fend for ourselves. In the Old Testament God gave his people his 10 Commandments. They were so important that He wrote them on stone tablets with his very own 13 finger (Exodus 31:18)! But, that was the Old Testament, right? Since Jesus lived the perfect life for us, do they even matter anymore? They absolutely matter, and there is a lot more to them than meets the eye! This class will be very conversational and though provoking as we explore how the 10 Commandments can answer every ethical and moral dilemma about things like politics, abortion, marriage, gossip, and much more. Don't become a mindless zombie. Come be a part of a real conversation as we try to figure out what's actually going on in this world!

“How Do I Honor God with My Technology?”
    Teacher: John Perritt

The psalmist says, "The EARTH is the Lord's and the fullness thereof...", which tells us that all of creation belongs to the Creator. We often think of creation as including trees, mountains, oceans, plant life, humans and the animal kingdom. While this is true, Scripture gives us a broader view of creation. It is definitely those things just listed, but it is so much more. Movies, music, iPhones, the Internet, Instagram, and anything else you encounter on a daily basis was placed in your path by the sovereign Creator. The earth belongs to God; therefore, it is 16 good. Technology is a good gift from God, but it becomes something less than honoring when it gets in the hands of sinners. This class will help you appreciate the good gift of technology, and also help you deal with the temptations that often accompany it. Come join us as we look at technology and temptation.

“Friendship: Intimacy in a Lonely World”
    Teacher: Matthew Beham

Jesus tells his disciples, "I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you." In our lonely, narcissistic, and sexualized world, we need to recapture the lost beauty of friendship: Friendship draws us out of our loneliness and into community; it draws us out of ourselves and into shared lives; and it draws us away from fleeting connection into relationships that will last into eternity. Join us as we explore the mess and hope of true friendship with God and man.

“What’s the Big Deal About the Bible?”
    Teacher: David Birnie

Do you have an amazing relationship with God where you wake up each morning and can’t wait to open the Bible? If so, you should probably go to a different awesome elective. But if you don’t, then come find out how we can reorient our understanding of Scripture. While we are at it, we can learn a few ways of how to approach the Bible. In Matthew 4, Jesus quotes the Old Testament by saying, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” We have these words recorded in the “Word” of God. Scripture is food for hungry hearts. If you have a hungry heart or want one, come join us!
