In this first special episode, we look ahead to some of the things that listeners might want to get in their calendar for this winter. 

First up is The National Snow Show at the NEC, Birmingham – October 15 and 16, 2022, the one and only UK snowsports event taking place this year. 

Then we look at the upcoming Alpine race calendar for this winter that kicks off in Sölden on October 22 and 23, ends in Soldeu, Andorra in March and includes the Alpine World Skiing Championships in the middle. 

Plus we look at the World Freestyle Championships in Georgia and The Freeride World Tour schedule.

It’s then onto the early resort openings in the Alps, what glaciers are already up and running and when some of the other resorts open up for the winter season. 

We look ahead to some of the amazing events and festivals that take place in the Alps this winter season include the new Montreux Comedy on Snow in Les Gets, Polaris Verbier, RISE in Les Deux Alpes, Rock the Pistes in the Portes du Soleil, Tomorrowland in Alpe d’Huez, Snowboxx in Avoriaz and Altitude in Mayrhofen and Zermatt Unplugged. 

The winter sports industry trade events of Slide and the SIGB Ski Test are discussed, key times for looking ahead at all the snowsports kit you will then get your hands on in the autumn of 2023.
