The Kings faced the Lakers for the 1st time in the regular season and unfortunately showed that they were not on the Lakers level.

A lot of it boils down to the Laker offense being better on a philosophical level along with having 2 of the best playmakers in the league. They also have better defensive personnel than the Kings so the margin for error is so thin.

And yet despite that, the Kings were competitive for a lot of the game and had they made a few more wide open 3s, this could've been a game for the taking.

Alas, the Kings have a ways to go before they reach the level of where the Lakers are at, if they ever do.

The Kings finally get a win! Their first in over 6 and half months.

And it was quite a glorious one as well as the Kings grinded out a mud fight and walked the Mavs down in the 4th quarter with some cold 3s.

It may have been a really bad off game for the Mavs, but some of things the Kings did this game could hopefully be the catalyst for the Kings to turn things around, even if it's the smallest adjustment from the dark path that they seemed destined for.

Welp, the Kings remain winless after 6 games. And this is despite Darius Acuff having arguably his best game so far scoring 38 points and making 9 threes.

Things are looking bleaker and bleaker for the Kings this season, but it does look like Darius is a special player that is destined for a special career.

Owen and Fong also talk about the recent injury epidemic and the Valkyries winning the 2026 WNBA title in just their 2nd year of existence as a franchise.

In the battle of 2 of the worst teams in the league, the Kings take another L. And this one was really inexcusable, the Pelicans are a bad team that doesn't play a lot of defense and doesn't shoot well from 3.

Well the Kings found a way, in the form of 25 turnovers and terrible defense.

The path of the Kings is becoming more and more clear and might be a while before a team takes the honor of being the King's first win of the season.

It was always going to be a long shot but at least fans expect their team to put up a fight.

The Kings got destroyed by the Spurs and their defense was the main culprit. They gave up easy transition points, shots at the rim and three pointers. Not a recipe to win in today's game.

Beyond all those issues, the Kings did look good for small, small stretches so hopefully that's something they can build on.

That being said, starting the season 0-4 isn't ideal to say the least and hopefully there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

Another game another loss. While the Kings are getting better every game, there's always something they struggle with and in this game it was the rebounding.

The Grizzlies had 18 offensive rebounds and it wasn't that they were overpowered by this very big and physical Memphis team. It was the Grizzlies guards just snatching their misses because they simply wanted it more than the Kings, and it cost the Kings dearly.

The Kings are still a work in progress and at some point they might be able to put it together, let's hope that is the case.

Well it was a win, but it was a better effort. The Kings went back to running the offense through Sabonis and it looked terrific for much of the game.

But a dreaded run at the start of the 3rd quarter by the Blazers put the Kings in a hole that they weren't able to recover from.

That being said, Darius Acuff scored 33 points and looked more and more comfortable as the game went on.

These 2 things, Sabonis running the offense and Acuff coming into his own may be the foundation that the Kings can build on as the season goes on and at some point, lead to wins.

Welp, that's a bad way to start a season. The Kings and their fans were hit across the head with the news of Ben Simmons tearing his achilles in practice over the weekend, and that set the stage for the unfortunate showing to begin their season in LA.

Without Simmons, the Kings were limited with options to initiate the offense, and it wasn't pretty. That was only eclipsed by how bad their defense was throughout the game. If that sounds familiar, it's because that's what we've been seeing since last year and in preseason, and it's now carried over to this regular season.

The saving grace may be that this is only just the 1st game and they could begin to finally build chemistry and get familiar as a team. Or it could be this is what we are in for the rest of the season. Let's just hope it's the former.

Finally it ends, this terrible Kings preseason comes to an end. It wasn't pretty to say the least, the Kings once again get blown out, this time by the Spurs.

There were very few bright spots, and one of them was that the Kings finally had a mostly healthy rotation. It wasn't smooth and they clearly need time to build chemistry, but it may be the first step in building something with this team.

Now, we wait until Wednesday when the Kings start their season in LA against the Clippers.

There are bad games, and then there's whatever this preseason game against the Blazers was.

Many of the rotation players were sidelined and left the Kings to fend for themselves against basically a full Blazers squad that smelled blood.

While a loss was not surprising in the least, the way the Kings played in this game really, really exposed the foundational issues with the roster and more importantly, the coaching staff on the bench.
