The Kings losing streak has extended to 12, yet the vibes aren't as bad as you might think.

As the deadline has passed, it is clear that the Kings have shifted their #1 priority to the development of the rookies and young guys on the team. And despite the back to back losses, they've been super competitive and fun to watch.

Against the Clippers, they forced the Clippers to earn their win down the stretch, and in the Cavs game where they welcomed back former Kings Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis, they were in it until the very end.

It was a weird vibe in the G1C, there was an air of uneasiness. Perhaps it's the looming trade deadline that everyone in the building knows is coming.

The Kings can't seem to win in Washington, as just like last year they lost to a tanking Wizards team that purposely played their young players and not their starters in crunchtime and the Kings still couldn't close it out.

Well here we are again, another 8 game losing streak this season.

On Thursday in Philly the Kings played a hard fought game and ended up losing on a final shot by Tyrese Maxey. The next night in Boston they simply didn't have any juice left to hang with the Celtics as they get blown out.

While the Kings have looked good in stretches on this road trip, it's still a loss in the win-loss column.

They are now the worst team in the league in terms of record and it will be very interesting how this will affect anything leading up to trade deadline this upcoming week.

The Kings played well for 3 and half quarters. They played good defense, forced the Knicks into a lot of silly turnovers, and Demar was carrying the Kings on offense. But the floor fell out from under them in the final 4 minutes as the Knicks go on a run to win the game going away.

Under the surface of this loss is also a game within a game regarding the King's offense. With Sabonis returning to the starting lineup, the King's starting lineup runs into a clash of philosophies with each of their veteran players and the result is a messy concoction of team basketball that just isn't conducive to winning basketball and is a source of confusion for everyone involved.

If I told you that the Kings shots 52% FG and 44% from 3 for a game, you would assume they won the game right?

Well not when you let the opposing team shoot 55% FG and 52% from 3 and you turn the ball over 19 times for 28 points off turnovers.

The Kings for the most played great on offense but they really struggled to get stops and had some god awful turnovers that negated the terrific shotmaking they had this game.

Their losing streak now grows to 5 as they start their first 2 road games of this trip 0-2.

The game started out 16-2 for the Cavs and the Kings looked absolutely cooked. Coach Christie calls a timeout and benches the starters and sends in his super subs and they were able to tie the game by the end of the 1st quarter.

The rest of the game was a back and forth battle until the Kings missed a few late buckets to give the game to the Cavs.

This is an interesting conundrum for the Kings and their coaching staff as it's clear that there needs to be a shakeup in the starting lineup and bench combos to get the most out of this team.
