Yep, we called it - David wasn't even home from one war with his people when another loud mouth blows the ram's horn. Amasa gets torn up over it, and Sheba of Bicri loses his head. Then we get more minutes from the office meeting.

Husband and Wife cover 2 Samuel chapter 19: David Returns to Jerusalem / David's Mercy to Shimei. David mourns his son. Joab is uppity. An old man is cranky. Mephibosheth is humble. The defeated losers whine. Pretty sure these fickle dumbos are about to go right back to war.

Husband and Wife cover 2 Samuel chapter 18: The Death of Absalom. Y'all, my guy got his wig caught in a tree and Joab got retribution for Absalom burning down his barley. Moral of the story: Reply to texts in a timely manner, get a hair cut, and never argue with trees!

Husband and Wife cover 2 Samuel chapter 17: The Counsel of Ahithophel and Hushai. TW for a suicide that occurs when Absalom doesn't take Ahithophel's advice. And look out for some super heavy-handed attempts at literary poetics by an overly ambitious writer: "as a bride returns to her husband" ... "as enraged as a mother bear who has been robbed of her cubs" ... "they have the heart of a lion" ... "as numerous as the sand on the seashore" ... oh my! Methinks someone had too much ink in his pen.
