Sacrilegious Discourse - Bible Study for Atheists

David Proposes to Bring the Ark to Jerusalem / David Goes to Get the Ark.

God smites a guy for trying to help. We argue about water. There were no saxophones in this chapter. What a pity.

David's Army.

Nice recap of who all decided to back David. We get some wild exaggerations as to how many troops the soldiers could kill, how fast they could run, how good they could climb, and how ambidextrous they were. You guys, they used BOTH hands.

David Made King over Israel / David Captures Zion / David's Mighty Men.

We argue over whether or not David built the City of David, and then we make up a story about The Five (who are now know as The Three). More names, but we got thru it.

Husband and Wife talk about Gilboa Mountain, and Wife admits she was wrong. Then they cover "the story so far" which makes that list of names easier to grasp.

The Death of Saul and His Sons.

This was an excellent way to end the week! Short chapter, a bit of story over material we already know, a contradiction we actually remember, and very few names! Wo0t!

Those Who Returned from Babylon / The Genealogy of Saul.

Still stuck in Name Land, but at least we get a bit of story in this one. The Israelites are starting to come out of exile. We aren't really sure what exactly that means, or how it was managed, but at least some things are final happening!

The Descendants of Issachar / The Descendants of Benjamin / The Descendants of Naphtali / The Descendants of Manasseh / The Descendants of Ephraim / The Descendants of Asher.

Hold on to your butts, cuz they actually mention a woman in this chapter - by name! - and she built towns! Wife is almost knocked speechless. We get more names (ugh) also get to meet some "select men" which sounds like a steak dinner tbh.
