The 2020 elections for US president, The Congress aka House of Representative, and the US Senate is over, ballots have been counted while some are still being counted. Over the last week I've got emails ranching on topics such as Biden presidential victory, Trump losing, Antifa, BLM, Supreme Court, COVID-19, Media, Distance learning, Geraldine Ferraro, Sarah Palin, Obamacare, etc. So in this show I'm going to answer as many questions you sent in with the hope that answers will help continue conversations that can maybe, just maybe, help resolve the division that we see today in the USA, and by extension the world-at-large.

Had a conversation yesterday with a relative, everything was fine until President Trumps name came up, which let to our conversation dissolving into an attack on Trump, and an attack on me. It revolved around Trumps handling of COVID-19, as it related to my father’s death, and my being called a Trump apologist even though I said nothing to support Trump, beyond I recall Trump sanction criminals in my homeland of Democratic Republic of the Congo, and that was received with the reference to a negative comment allegedly made by Trump regarding Africa, so I didn’t even bother talking about anything else. Biden’s faults were disregarded, 1994 Crime Bill, sexual assault charges, racist comments, treatment of Black women, etc., just wanted to hear thoughts. It’s just the times we live in, if you don’t agree with someone, they think you’re delusional, an Trump supporter, that your dumb, ignorant, it’s only going to get worst after the election. Its not rational, I was asked who I would vote for Trump or Biden, and when I said I wouldnt vote for either one of them (I was going to mention a write-in candidate but didnt bother) I was told that was a cop-out. That really hurt. Trumps elections revealed the true colors of a lot of people, whether they be Democrats, GOP, conservatives, progressives, liberals, Black Lives Matter supporter or critic. Seems the days of conversation, and exchange of idea is long gone. Can we bring it back? Let’s talk.

Did anyone see what happened in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles weeks ago too our Latino brother? Or see last year what happened to the young Anglo sister leaving a supermarket? Police brutality isn't exclusive too Black people, it’s been unleashed on so many of societies people. Colin kept saying that.

We'll post something, we'll call a sheriff or politician, fax them, march, blame Trump, cry for Obama too come back, feel the anguish, make speeches, rehash the "endangered speech". US senators Kamala Harris and Cory Booker will stress, and a Mayor will cry, remember what happened to that brother in Mayor Buttigieg city? What Biden say about not being Black? Where was the repercussions? Michael sang the verse "Jew me, kike me" and the Jewish crew were so outraged MJ apologized and recorded a new version, later did they understand where he was coming from. Sean Combs apologized to the Asian crew for an offense he committed, but never apologized for calling brothers the n-word and our women the b-word in his music.

But we don't vote. Michelle Obama said it was slap in the face to Barack that people didn't vote in the 2016 presidential election. Yet when do vote, and our candidate loses we immediately point to voter suppression.

The killer of Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman, is still walking around. Hollywood's outraged about the brother’s murder, the same week Jimmy Fallon apologized for being busted in a 2007(?) video wearing black face. Hollywood is outraged by the brothers killing, well how did Hollywood’s support of Senator Hilary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election work out?

We have segmented ourselves from each other so much we think that "It’s their problem." Vote so that you can be a part of the process. Vote them in, vote them out.

"We don't get along", "they don't like us", "they hate us", "they think they're better than us", I get a headache each time I hear it.

The oft cited narrative says that there is warfare between African and Black Americans? We're going to talk about it.

This episode came about several weeks back when I was watching an interview on Vlad TV where Vlad was interviewing comedian Godfrey C. Danchimah aka Godfrey and the topic of the relations between African and Black Americans was broached, and it included Rick "Freeway Ricky" Ross the former drug leader, not the rapper. I wasn’t happy with most of the discussion, much of which I’ve heard before, and it circled around the refrain, “Africans this, Africans that.” Africans aren’t a monolith, Black-Americans aren’t a monolith, and it was a disappointment to hear Godfrey, a brother I highly respect (his impressions of Denzel Washington are a riot!), lump a continent of 1 billion plus into one envelope. Godfrey did say it was from his point of view, so I'm not going to argue against that; I’m going to talk about it from my point of view.

Facts, fiction, people dying, businesses profiting. It’s not the end of the world, but it feels like it, doesn’t it? These are crazy times, yeah? Everyone is suspicious of each other. Store shelves being stripped bare of toilet paper, Puerell, rice, and eggs. What is the cause of all this? Fear.

The Coronavirus aka Covid-19 is now a global pandemic, and as a result, “social distancing (remaining 6-feet from each other” is being emphasized to prevent the virus from spreading. Yet, because of the testing for the virus seems to be inaccessible to the everyday person, it’s hard to tell how many people actually have the virus, so it’s not a coincidence that the numbers of the infected continues to grow, exponentially in some areas, to the point that many governors have order a stay-at-home order, and President Trump even considered imposing a quarantine on parts of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Let’s talk about it.

I’ve been looking at media the last few weeks, YouTube, Instagram, the news outlets, print media and there has been this weird balkanization of media between those that think they are the spokesperson for whatever cause they think deserves attention and those too afraid to speak honestly for fear of retribution from the first group. "Woke", which according to Wikipedia is defined as; “As a political term of African-American origin refers to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social justice and racial justice. It is derived from the African-American Vernacular English expression "stay woke", whose grammatical aspect refers to a continuing awareness of these issues.” Yeah.

I’ve watched the celebration of mediocre movies that were praised simply because they had women behind the camera, had a majority Black cast, or in the case of the Academy Award winning movie Parasite being praised as though “Crazy Rich Asians” wasn’t extremely popular months earlier, or the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon didn’t win Best Foreign Language Film, Best Art Direction, Best Original Score, and Best Cinematography at the 2001 Academy Awards.

Least we do not mention the open hostility towards White men, including Brie ‘Captain Marvel’ Larson’s "I don’t need a 40-year-old white dude to tell me what didn’t work about A Wrinkle in Time. It wasn’t made for him! I want to know what it meant to women of color, biracial women, to teen women of color.” Considering that it was more than likely Anglo men that financed the movie, and that many of Anglo men have children with non-Anglo women, that comment didn’t prevent that movie form bombing at the office.

Lets Talk About It.

Thus far these Democratic debates have consisted of mudslinging, personal attacks, Medicaid for All, very little of the Green New Deal, and even a smaller dosage of discussing the policies that will benefit the American voters. And the moderators of these debates, they leave much to be desired. The televised debates look more like the gladiator fights at the Roman Colosseum, than actual debating. It’s been disappointing at best. People are worried about how will they make rent, how will they pay their bills, put food on the table, keep a roof over their heads, praying they don’t get sick, and the Democratic candidates are more concerned about delivering pre-written answers to pre-written questions. Let’s talk about it.

Alright people, my acting friends, we need to have a conversation about some of the things that I’ve seen at auditions, whether it be those that we hold or those that I’ve sat in on. These are things that pretty much doom the actor/actress before they utter a single word, even before they get the sides. Conversely, there are a few things that an actor/actress can do to improve their chances at, if not getting the role, being considered for the next role that come across the casting directors’ desk. Let’s talk about it.
