Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Educators in Philly are using STEM to reinvent how we approach education in this generation. I sat down with two innovators, David and Aliyah. They both are working to reform what happens in the classroom and provide more opportunities to under privileged black and brown students.

When we have political discussions, it can be very easy to only engage with people we agree with. So today I'm stepping outside the box and invited a young black conservative to the show. He goes by Tyler Bluntman and calls himself the terrible conservative. He affiliates with the constitutional party, he supports legalizing marijuana and believes abortion is murder and that's just the tip of the iceberg. You don't want to miss this episode.

To be mindful of your mental health is very often seen in some as being weak. Seeking mental healthcare, yoga, and even meditation falls under this stereotype. An argument can be made that in fact, taking care of your mental well-being is one of the strongest things you can accomplish. On this episode I'm sitting with Nayo Shell, host of the Meditation Matter podcast and we indeed discuss why it matter.

With gentrification on the rise, now more than ever it's important we support our black businesses. Especially the ones who has served the community for years. Yet how to find them? It's much easier said than done. So today I'm sitting with the creators of Black Owned Philly. They are creating a directory of black businesses in the Philadelphia area. We talk about how the community can support these businesses but also how the community has different expectations of black business owners than any other ethnicity.

What does it mean to have religious freedom and separation of church and state? Our country was built on this principal yet have we ever experience a true separation? What happens when religious freedom and expression begin to interfere with other’s civil rights? Today I sat down with Naomi Washington-Leapheart and we discuss it all. As a minister she faces this daily. Being queer, she challenges the hypocritical notion of the traditional aspects of religion in american society.

On today's episode, I had a conversation with PA State Rep and Democratic Whip Jordan Harris on this new law making it's way through the state of PA. Clean Slate helps those who have paid their restitution to and served their time, get their records expunged and have an avenue back into society. We also talk about areas of the criminal punishment system that needs a serious reform.
