Film Synopsis:
"A boy grows up spending his days amongst the trees. Through his daily visits of climbing, playing and swinging from branches, he develops a loving friendship with the tree and her saplings. But, the boy grows up.
His visits become few and far between and he loses his affection for the natural world. He follows his lineage into the field of logging; therefore he must choose between protecting or slaughtering his beloved family of trees. Today I welcome one of my favorite musicians to the show. Drew Danburry is an artist that I've been following for 15 years and it was an honor to have him on Salt Lake Dirt. In addition to his 'Drew Danburry' catalogue, make sure to check out his band Icarus Phoenix.

I loved the film and the fact that all of these incredible musicians (Lee Shapiro, the Vivino brothers and John Feeney just to name a few) came from one high school during the same era is remarkable.

My top pick for narrative feature at Dances with Films 2023 is The Black Guelph. This film caught me off guard and I fell in love with it during the opening scene. John Connors directed the film and co-wrote it with Tiernan Williams.
Today we talk with some of the main actors from the film. Kevin Glynn (also an executive producer), Tony Doyle (Virgil) and Graham Earley (Canto) sat down to discuss how the film came about.
Every once in awhile I see a film at a festival that makes me remember why I started doing Salt Lake Dirt. The Black Guelph is one of those films. It is not to be missed! Keep a lookout for it.
Thanks for listening!
