There is a point in diet, I believe, where intuition helps more than knowledge. Just being aware of what we eat and noticing it’s effects will benefit more than adhering to a diet based on scientific evidence that may not even be relevant to our body.
Today I ate two slices of white bread, drank a coffee with 30g sugar, an Arnold Palmer, a kombucha, along with a s*** ton of meat. One meal and a 17 hour fast.
The bread and sugary drinks created a small amount of inflammation but other than that I was just fine. I think there is a tipping point to where sugar and refined carbs begins to damage the body, but I’m not convinced that they’re overall damaging.
To enforce too much limitations on the body is probably way more damaging than allowing a little sugar or bread. Better to have less discipline and some morale, than too much discipline and no morale at all.
