    In this story, Mister Kim goes into the big city for the first time. He is amazed at the price of things and is a little uneasy, but he is on a mission. He buys some things for his family, but then finds out about this strange new circle with a very familiar face in it. He brings it back home and there is nothing but trouble. Can the local judge sort things out?

  • EP 175: Japan- My Lord Bag O'Rice

    In this story, Fujiwara Hidesato shows his bravery by walking over a sleeping dragon. In return for his bravery he is tasked with killing the mountain sized centipede. It takes time, but he remembers some advice about killing centipedes and is rewarded with several treasures. One treasure is a bag of rice that never goes empty, thus earning him the name Tawara Toda.

    In this story, Kwesi tells his mom that he will bury her with the tail of the Princess Elephant. He has to sneak off into the elephant village and cut off her tail. That sets off a trail of revenge where she has to trick him in order to get revenge for the theft. Listen for the surprise ending.

    In this story, a man remarries and his new wife doesn't like his kids. So all three are tricked into an apple pit. They were going to eat the youngest, but then she makes a wish to have pick ax hands. The older sisters make promises that they cannot keep, so they conspire to make the youngest sister's promise not come true. But the youngest sister is proves her words are true through some golden haired kids.

  • EP 171: China- THE RATTAN VINE AND THE ROSE TREE 蔓莖與梅樹 + THE MELON AND THE PROFESSOR 學由瓜得

    In the first story, a rattan vine is insulting the rose tree. The rose tree is forced to defend itself. Then after a storm, the rose tree is the only one left standing. 

    And in the second story, a professor thinks that the creator has made a mistake by putting figs in trees and watermelons on the ground. Luckily it was a fig that dropped on his nose to let him know that he was wrong.

The Prince and princess get married, but then she is tricked out of her jewel, which leaves the husband behind in the underground. Can the minister's son bluff his way into getting the jewel back and keep his best friend alive?

    In the first story, a princess has to choose between trouble when she is young, or when she is older. She picks trouble when she is young and an eagle takes her away and gives her trouble after trouble. Can the prince save her?

    In the second story, a merchant has to leave the city to do some business. He has three young daughters at home. He makes them promise not to let anyone in, but his two oldest daughters forget and take pity on an old beggar. Can the youngest prove that she is the wisest?
