This is the story of a man who moves an entire castle to the middle of Ohio. He really wanted to have the old world feel and a real ghost to show off with. But sadly, he can't seem to get a ghost to come around. He also has a beautiful daughter that he keeps locked up in the donjon tower because she was once pursued by a man who turned out to not be a Duke. Here comes Geoffrey De Pierpont to the rescue. If he is lucky, he can pretend to be the ghost and then run away with Anita. But what of that ghost?

  • EP 96: Halloween - The Screaming Skull of Greyfriars (W.T. Linskill 1921)

Welcome to my Halloween storytelling month. I will be telling stories that contain ghosts and spooky stuff. Nothing will be terribly gruesome, but there is a mention of murder twice in this story if you want to keep little ears away.

The narrator is visiting his friend Allan de Beauchamp. Allan is the last in a long line of Beauchamps, going all the way back to a hard drinking, hard partying fellow named Neville de Beauchamp. Well, his wife dies of a broken heart and Neville becomes a monk at the St Andrews kirk. His inlaws get revenge, but his head follows and curses the whole line of Beauchamps. Listen and enjoy

One of their children is a great crab, the other was one big star until his father cut him up and spread the stars across the sky. The great crab tries to eat the Moon, his mother, from time to time. It is only because of the people shouting that the Moon is saved. (Mandaya)

And finally in story six, the son of the widow goes off to hunt pigs. He kills the pig that belongs to the spirit of the stone. The spirit of the stone is not mad at him and instead invites him to hang around. When the boy leaves, he meets seven warriors in seven colors. • EP 91: Korea- The King of the Flowers

This is the story of a Korean king being reminded to take care of his country instead of being distracted by Cinnamon Rose. The great kind Shinmun is distracted by the court ladies and is given an allegory all about the King of the Flowers, known as the Peony. When the king hears the story, he is able to figure out that the real meaning is that he needs to get his own things in order. Of course the temptress is to blame instead of the King, but hopefully the king takes some of the blame.
