In this new episode of Sartorial Talks, Hugo discuss with Eric George (from the great Champagne house of Forget Brimont located in Reims France) about this prestigious wine which is one of the signatures of the French "art de vivre" around the world.
What is the difference between Champagne and other sparkling wines? How is it made? When was it invented? What is a "Premier Cru" ? What is a "Grand Cru"? Why, unlike still wine, a Champagne bottle generally does not indicate a year (a vintage) on the label? What is a "vintage Champagne"?
Everything you always wanted to know about Champagne is in this podcast!
To know more about Forget Brimont Champagne you can send an email to Eric George at : [email protected]
Cheers!

In this episode (originally published exclusively on our Patreon page) Sonya and Hugo reflect on how people are today reconsidering the way they consume clothing in a post-pandemic world.
"Buy Less, Buy Better" has always been our motto since the creation of our YouTube channels (Sartorial Talks in English and Discussions Sartoriales in French). But today it seems that this claim is becoming even more relevant as people start to realize the terrible ecological cost of fast-fashion while rediscovering the virtues of traditional craftsmanship and patience.

In this new episode of Sartorial Talks, Sonya and Hugo address the subject of good manners and why mastering them could be important in your life and in your relationships with others. This episode is an introduction to a series of 5 episodes dedicated to this often overlooked subject. In a world which is becoming more and more brutal and in which politeness is becoming rare, we believe we all have something to win in showing respect and consideration in our everyday behaviour.

In this new episode of Sartorial Talks entitled "The Golden Age of Men's Style", Hugo welcomes Marc Guyot, a famous Parisian menswear designer who is among the last clothiers in the world to specialise in the 1920s to 1950s men's style. During this show, Hugo and Marc Guyot speak about the "Peaky Blinders" and "Boardwalk Empire" phenomenons and also about the fascination of the sartorial cognoscenti for the professional magazine "Apparel Arts" (published in the 1930s). A fascinating era. A captivating guest. A mesmerising style.

With the loosening of the dress codes in all the sectors of professional life and the decline (not to say the collapse) of the low quality ready-to-wear suiting industry, the custom suiting business is on the rise in Europe, in the USA and all around the world. Most gentlemen who are wearing suits or jackets nowadays, are doing it by choice and no more by obligation. This small sartorial revolution is the main reason why, almost paradoxically, the custom suiting industry is progressing with the opening of more and more custom suiting salons and showrooms in all the major cities around the world. Thus, a new challenge arises, as in this business you can now find anything from sartorial disasters to magnifient crafting.
In this episode, Hugo analyses this movement and provides advice and simple tips in order for you to choose the right Made-to-Measure company for your next suit, jacket or tailored garments.
For this purpose he takes 5 examples of MTM companies who are doing an excellent job in this field: 2 in the USA, 2 in France and one in the Czech Republic.

In this new edition of Sartorial Talks, Hugo Jacomet and Marc Guyot discuss some rules of men's style and etiquette. Of course all these "rules" and conventions can be broken, but it's always good to know them. Enjoy and don't forget to comment (and subscribe).
