In this episode I investigate alleged links between Freemasons, Satanism and worldwide political upheaval. And you always thought they were just a bunch of boring old men playing dress up, performing archaic rituals while getting drunk.

What do Doom, Pokémon, Christian radio hosts, the Columbine moral panic, and the literal Prince of Darkness have in common? According to decades of outrage merchants — they’re all recruiting your children for Satan!
In this episode we dive into the long-running hysteria around “satanic video games” — from the demon-slaying chaos of Doom to Diablo, Devil May Cry, Shin Megami Tensei, Dante's inferno, Afterparty and the global phenomenon of Five Nights at Freddy's.
This episode explores satanic panic, religious censorship, Christian fundamentalism, video game violence debates, culture wars, moral hysteria, and the recurring habit of blaming pop culture instead of people.
Are video games corrupting youth?
Is digital violence a sin?
Are cartoon boobs more spiritually dangerous than warfare simulators?
And why does Satan consistently get better branding than God in gaming?

In this episode I investigate the alleged links between the devil and good old wholesome family values Disney. Surprisingly, despite Disney’s liberal use of demons and satanic imagery it is the company’s attitude to the LGBTQ+ community that has raised the most ire.

The biggest threat to 1980s youth wasn’t Satanic heavy metal — it was a Senate hearing featuring John Denver.
Ah, heavy metal: music so dangerous that Satan apparently needed his own marketing department- even though the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWoBHM) was mostly just theatre nerds reading books and panicking parents who decided the best way to destroy evil Iron Maiden albums was to smash them with hammers so they wouldn't accidentally inhale the demonic fumes.
Meanwhile the Satanic Panic machine was warming up nicely, clutching its pearls over alleged backwards messages while everyone involved seemed determined to make 1980s metal look precisely 400% more evil than it actually was.
It’s a beautifully stupid era of history featuring Judas Priest getting dragged into court, religious satire, occult nonsense, satanic panic and the eternal human tradition of blaming teenagers for society’s problems. Fully scripted. Heavily produced. Featuring Satanic Panic, metalheads and one very convincing case for Lemmy as a superhero.

Sci-fi isn't as original as Hollywood thinks — it's mostly just space nerds plagiarizing the bible and chucking lightsabers at the devil. We’re digging into the sticky biblical fingerprints that are all over some of the biggest science fiction and fantasy franchises ever made.
From Star Wars dad of the year Darth Vader offering Luke ultimate power on a gantry ( à la Satan tempting Jesus), to Anakin's suspiciously immaculate conception, we head into Dune, where Paul Atreides discovers that being a prophesied superhuman messiah comes with some fairly serious consequences. Then it's The Matrix: Neo, Zion, resurrection, demon-like Agents and enough suspicious biblical references to keep MAGA conspiracy machines running forever.
Finally, fave of the podcast, Battlestar Galactica brings us Mormon theology, Lucifer, Count Iblis and one kick-ass devil with a spaceship.
Fully scripted. Heavily produced. Featuring loads of science fiction satan, some force ghosts, and one very confusing search for Richard Hatch.

In this episode we’re looking at Satanic US presidents — from George Washington to Donald Trump to Joe Biden. Which is fitting, because they were all born in the same year.
Featuring Reagan’s 666 conspiracy theories, QAnon resurrection myths, and the long tradition of calling political opponents “the devil”.
This is a re-recorded version of our very first episode — because like all podcasters, we eventually looked back and thought “we can do better than that.” The original 2020 version is still lurking in the Archive section of our Patreon if you’re feeling brave.)
From founding fathers who weren’t quite as religious as advertised, to modern conspiracy theories about the antichrist in the White House, we break down how Satan, religion, and politics have been tangled together throughout US history.
In this episode:
Expect:
Blasphemy, historical chaos, conspiracy debunking, and at least one deeply inappropriate Reagan joke. If you’ve ever heard someone call a politician “evil”, “demonic”, or “the antichrist” — this episode explains exactly where that comes from.
