Satan is my Superhero

In this episode we will look at one of English literature’s greatest names, the Romantic Poet, Lord Byron. 

It is claimed outside of the U.K. he is the second most read British author behind Shakespeare.

We first mentioned Byron in our second episode, Science Fiction Satan, where we quoted contemporary poet Robert Southey who dubbed Byron and his good friend Percy Shelley as ‘The Satanic School’. Southey claimed their work was, ‘characterised by a Satanic spirit of pride and audacious impiety.’

Add to Southey’s glowing endorsement, there is of course the more famous quote about Byron from Lady Caroline Lamb who called him, ‘Mad, bad and dangerous to know.’

Then there’s his work, poems and plays about the apocalypse, angels of death, vampires, defying the gods, a tribute to Dante’s inferno, Lucifer and St Peter litigating over a King of England at the very gates of Heaven, an ode to Napoleon, likening him to our favourite disrupter, the witch of Endor from first Samuel, the devil’s drive or the story of Cain told from the point of view of murderous Cain himself.

After all of that, how could I resist doing an episode about this man?

In this episode we travel south of heaven where Hell awaits to spend seasons in the abyss and reign in blood with our undisputed attitude that God hates us all in the Chri$t illusion. Without divine intervention we see a world painted blood in repentless diabolus musica and tell the story of Slayer’s debut album, Show No Mercy.

In 1981 Huntington Park California guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman met at an audition and realised they were into the same stuff. Living only just around the corner was like-minded bass player and singer Tom Araya. All they needed to create the loudest, heaviest, fastest and most satany band ever was a double kickarse drummer. Then suddenly there was a knock at Kerry King’s door. 16 year old Dave Lombardo had been told there was another long haired disreputable type in the area. So the plucky, pizza delivery man went and introduced himself. The original, the classic and the most persistent line up was complete.

We will pick up the story there and tell you how that debut album came to be. There will be cameo guest star appearances from Bitch, Metal Blade Records, Iron Maiden, Phantom of the Opera. Sit back and relax as self-proclaimed Gender Queer Non Binary Gay English singer Sam Smith takes to the Grammy Awards stage with openly transgender German woman Kim Petras to perform their hit song, ‘Unholy’. I wonder if anyone will get upset?

And in completely unrelated news we’ll meet Conservative podcaster Liz Wheeler, Republican senator Ted Cruz,  failed republican candidate for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District and former music video director, Robby Starbuck Newsom and crazy person Marjorie Taylor Greene.

It can’t all be as much fun as Sam Smith and Kim Patras, we’ll also have a hilarious peek into the Morbid Angel tragedy at the Apollo Theatre in Belvidere Illinois that took the life of Fred Livingston Jr. I wonder if anyone tried to exploit that for personal gain?

But then it’s straight back into atheists making Chri$tians look dumb with The Satanic Temple’s Satancon in Boston.

Then it’s on to Chri$tians scaring the rest of us again with a trip to the Chri$tian nationalist event ReAwaken America at Miami’s Trump National Doral Hotel. Where just two weeks before the release of the live action version of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, hate preacher Amanda Grace gives us the skinny on technologically advanced mermaids working for Satan.
