Satan On Long Weekendz EP17 holy smokes this ones a monster, Dan Blitzman from Dole Manchild and Left Brain Right Brain Podcast kept the wheelzz moving on this one for nearly 2 hours, so much for my diligent attempts to keep these episodes palatable. We cover off on the basics, Dole Manchild and Left Brain Right Brain and in between it all there is a lot of meandering, the CIA and Courtney Loves Dad, Nepotism and Plumbers, Patrick Swayze, Allan Ginsberg, LCD Soundsystem, Jesus on Tuesdays, Atari Teenage Riot, Jay Reatard, 28 Days, the Arias, Rick Rubin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, i also have a massive whinge about Hinge kicking me off their platform, Dan does his best to move on but i persist, we do eventually move on and also cover off on Dick Cavett, Chris Knox, The Brian Jonestown Massacre Forum water bottle conspiracy, Black Sabbath, Temple of the Dog, Japanese Rock and a little bit of Cherry at the Tote.
Its a lot

Skyscraperz On Weekendz EP16 we're at the Gem with Skyscraper Stan chatting about the 4th single, Talk to me, from his up and coming new album, Those Were Days. The single was released the day of our catch up so i do my best to help support the official release and promotion, things im not very good at. Alas, we powered on and covered off, as per usual, on a wide range of interesting topics including but not limited to, County and folk, canceling people and domestic cats, pedantic drummers, Cheer Squad Records, Nick Cave and Taylor Swift, touring Australia, Classic Soul, Cash Savage, New Zealand, Penguins, Queenie(Ep 5!), Patrick Wilson, Peep Tempel, Fly my Pretties and Missing Teeth as well as The Legend of Fred Neil and his Dolphins.
Stan also, and this is half the reason i love this, introduced me to loads of artists and bands I'd never or only vaguely heard of, with Stan stamping his approval I've now got loads of cool new and old music to check out, here's a sample: Cold Heart Warm Hands, Karen Dalton, Glass Beams, Surprise Chef, Wilson Pickett, Duran Jones, St Paul and the Broken Bones, Gretta Ziller, Eaten By Dogs, Cherrywood and Brothers Grim & The Blue Murders.
Stan's new album, Those Were Days, will be out Valentines Day 2025 (a Friday)
Catch Stan and his band the Commission Flats at the Bergy bandroom November 29th (also a Friday)
Also, go listen to the latest single Talk to me on Spotify or Bandcamp, its sweet

Im more of a Sabotage guy, Steve, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Take that.
Steve was a dude and showed me around the shop and i got some cool snaps.

Satan On Weekendz EP14 we're at the Tote with Ben, Sue and Pip from local super group Plastic Section. We start off talking about such items as the definition of rock n roll and not being boring, the Cramps, the 5,6,7,8's, Bangkok Thailand, aspirations to play Japan, The Exotics and the million and half other local bands that all 3 have played in over the years. Ben delves into the origins of the band and the beauty of rock n roll, Sue takes us back to the early days of the Wet Ones playing with Fred Negro at the Ballroom while still at high school through to Girl Monstar supporting the Ramones at the Palace, Pip launches into his 20 year fantastical journey to eventually playing a bass guitar taking detours via submarines, London squats, introducing cider to Blind Melon and band managing Screwtop Denotators. Theres a lot going, its fun and you're bound learn something.
Plastic Section will be releasing a new album shorty, keep your eyes open. Gigs will follow in rapid succession. If you want to catch them in the meantime they are playing a Monday night gig post River Rocks weekend at Last Chance
