  • Sacred Silence | Growing in Acceptance

Letting go of our controlling parts is the way to flow with life. Swaha reminds us that this transformation is possible. The challenge is to observe where we’re stuck, with courage and honesty; this way we gain an understanding of our unconscious patterns. Once we recognize it, acceptance becomes natural, opening us to life's beauty. We regain trust in the organic flow of existence by aligning ourselves with it, being more playful and ready for the adventure.

  • Sacred Silence | Zen Story - What is the Way?

"What is the way?" a curious monk asked the Master. "Why can I not see it myself?" Vasant Swaha shares a Zen story to reveal that seeing the way requires moving beyond our narratives. Usually, we are overly identified with our mental commentary and inner "movies," missing the present moment. Yet, the way is always here and now. When thought streams dissipate, allowing pure awareness to shine through, the way unveils itself. By anchoring in alert and aware presence, we synchronize with life's flow.

  • Sacred Silence | Follow Love

“If love knocks on your door, follow it. Don’t go back to sleep”.  A seeker shares with Vasant Swaha how taking part in the retreat has changed her life and asks him how she can realize her true Self. He answers by first quoting the words of Hafiz, Rumi and Khalil Gibran and then explains that what we’re looking for is already here but can only be revealed to us in a climate of emptiness, love and gratitude - and for that an inner cleansing is needed. Swaha shares the example of a 14th century Kashmiri woman named Lalla who was a mystic. She was a wild and free spirit and also highly respected. She was known for helping those who were lost in the forest of the mind to find their way back to their heart.

  • Sacred Silence | The Way is in the Heart

While sharing one of Buddha’s Sutras, Vasant Swaha reminds us that a great strength of spirit is needed in order to find inner peace. He goes on to explain that there is a deeply ingrained habit of unconsciousness in all of us, and so courage is vital, if we are going to face ourselves. We must look into what hinders us from growing if we want to be free and that can only be done by going within through meditation.  “Find that which is always there [... ] that is peace, that is God, that is your true self, your inner full moon; that is your challenge: to find that. Purify yourself, remove your obstacles, look at yourself…The way is not in the sky, the way is in the heart.’”

  • Sacred Silence | The Sacred Longing

There’s a longing in all of us to open up and be in our hearts. It is our nature to be loving; but we also carry the habit of being closed and protected. In answering one of his disciples, Vasant Swaha reminds us, through Rumi’s words, how pain can be a door to vulnerability, and that only by being vulnerable can we truly experience life. Once a glimpse of the real happens, of living from our heart, the longing to be free is awakened and that is what brings us home.
