Satsang with Swaha - Audio

This series is a selection of audios from Satsangs with Vasant Swaha, where he talks about the eternal truth through the beauty and depth of the Sufi tradition.
The beautiful stories told here take us on a journey into a time of kings and sultans of the East, while containing timeless wisdom which continue to be applicable in our lives today.

Hafiz, Rumi, Attar, Hakim Senai, Bahhaudin, Abdulalim of Fez and Khalid; these are some of the great Sufi mystics Swaha introduces us to in these audios, which are meant to be listened to with an open heart, so that we may be uplifted to the realm where these enlightened beings dwell.

The message of the Master is simple, down to earth, and directed straight to the heart of those who are open and available to be elevated by Love itself.

“If you are not one with the Beloved, seek. And if you are in union, rejoice.” Rumi.

Getting back to the joy of life
In a letter to Vasant Swaha, a woman describes how she has lost the joy of life, even after having tried many methods of meditation and group therapies. Swaha answers that we need to find balance, and that meditation should be in favor of life, not against it. He goes on to tell us how important it is to relax on deeper levels, and that we should listen to our inner voice so we do not end up in strange places.

"Is Dharma everywhere?" a disciple asks Swaha and what she can do to spread peace and love to the world. With much Love, Swaha answers that Dharma is everywhere, but the Gurus carry its torch, helping the disciples to find their way home. He emphasises on the importance of totality in order to get free from the mind.

In this last audio from this series from Thailand, Swaha shares excerpts of the Dhammapada, bringing to modern times the fire of the holy words of the Buddha. This fire is here to awaken our awareness, so we can see  life as it is in a deeper realm.

“Mistaking the false for the true,
And the true for the false,
You overlook the heart
And fill yourself with desire.

Wake up! See the false as false,
The true as true.
Look into your heart.
Follow your nature.

An unreflecting mind is a poor roof.
Passions, emotions, mind, like the rain, will flood your house.
But if the roof is strong, there is shelter.

Whoever follows impure thoughts
Will suffer in this world and the next.
In both worlds he suffers,
And how greatly,
When he sees the wrong he has done.

But whoever follows the Law,
Is joyful here and joyful there.
In both worlds he rejoices,
And how greatly,
When he sees the good he has done.
For great is the harvest in this world, and greater still in the next.

However many holy words you read,
However many holy words you speak,
What good will they do when you do not act on them?
Are you a shepherd who is counting another man’s sheep,
Never sharing the way?

Read as few words as you like,
And speak even fewer,
But act upon the Law.
Give up the old ways – passion, anger, deceit –
Know the truth and find peace.
Share the way.”
-Gautama Buddha
