In this EP we discuss comedians and their role in modern day society. I admit, I'm still conflicted on this one. On one hand I couldn't imagine the world without people sharing their gift and talent of making us laugh, on another hand I understand that comedians for as long as I can remember have had zero accountability when it comes to offending certain demographics. The question becomes...what role do they have in an evolving society that has decided that the oppression of certain groups...women, LGBTQ is no longer who we want to be? Are we ready to change our definition of what is funny?
David Chapelle released his Netflix special this week. While our EP was recorded earlier, I thought it was a good time to present the question...will we ever get to a place where the denigration of groups in any capacity is no longer acceptable or will comedians still be allowed to offend as long as it makes us laugh?
