Presumably due to Easter, the Hollywood news cycle has been having a come-to-Jesus moment of sorts. MGM and Paramount dropped the trailer for their questionably necessary remake of “Ben-Hur”, starring Morgan Freeman with a maypole on his head masquerading as dreadlocks. And on TV, FOX produced “The Passion Live”, its contemporary Passion play narrated by Tyler Perry. And then Jesus also had mercy on us and blessed us - ironically - with "Daredevil" Season 2 on Netflix.

From the late 1960s to the end of the 1970s, dozens of films with mostly Black casts had soundtracks crafted for them by some of the biggest musicians of the day, among them Melvin Van Peebles, Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, and many more. To close out Black History Month, Brandon, Kareem, John, Ken and Jamison discuss the history of these blaxploitation soundtracks from films such as "Shaft", "Superfly", "Claudine", "The Mack", "Black Caesar", and "Trouble Man" - and Brandon gets joked on for not having heard the latter two until this week.
