Today I have a talk with Urs Stirnimann, who is a lawyer, a legal consultant and you can listen to him as a speaker at many wealth and sustainability conferences. He established a bank from scratch in the Caribbean’s. Currently he is the Vice President of the Swiss Business Council in Dubai. Recently he sold his company and he enjoys his life in the Middle East.  

Urs is quite an adventurous person, who is a professional diver, he travelled to North Korea, worked for the Red Cross and visited hundreds of war prisoners. His book he wrote as an 18 years old was sold more than 10,000 times.

From 2015 to 2019,  Thomas Hirschi was responsible for the supervision of banks and insurance companies at the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). In January 2020 he moved back to Switzerland. My guest, Courtney Orange, is a former international gymnast who competed in the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester UK.

My guest went through many special experiences. Maurice de Rooij spent 10 years in South East Asia and 10 years in the Middle East. He had to work and battle through the second Bali bomb, the second Gulf war in Iraq - while working in Jordan - and - he was in Sharm El Sheikh during the Egyptian revolution. Maurice’s last role in Dakar Senegal brought this experience to an early end, because of covid. Even though - my guest is a passionate hotel director, I met him many times and always with an optimistic and positive approach.

My guest, this week is a young and brave lady. Her Motto: Never fear a new opportunity!
After her Hotel Management School in Switzerland, Michelle Gebert went to China, and worked in the hospitality industry for around 6 years -  and later in Dubai.
As the Executive Director, Michelle was leading the Swiss Business Council in Dubai, and in 2019 she moved to the Netherlands, where she established her own business “Hold the Moo” - a trailer coffee shop with delicious home-made food. Since few years she is a blogger about healthy food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, salads and desserts.
The launch of her coffee shop was in the worst time - the 2020 pandemic - but Michelle was very courageous and she decided to go ahead anyway.

Reto Maccioni, a pilot at Emirates Airlines in Dubai, previously worked for Swissair and Swiss International Air Lines in Zurich, Switzerland, until he moved to Dubai with his family, his wife and two girls. But what happened? After four years in Dubai, his wife and the girls wanted to go back to Switzerland.
