She resigned in 2014 over the Conservative Party's policy towards the Isaeli Gaza conflict, and has since been appointed as a life peer in the House of Lords. She talks to Krishnan about wanting an inquiry into Islamophobia in the Tory Party, why she thinks politics has gone backwards and how a globally adopted human rights policy would change things.
