So I'm going to be walking you through today how my first gym like the first gym business that we had, which was an outdoor concept, which I'll explain in just a moment with that is, it's not really relevant to the story, it was almost shut down by the police, and how it led to one of my biggest breakthroughs in building three now $300,000 Plus, per, per year businesses in record time, like we did this in just a few months building up to 100k. And it's really, really powerful stuff. And it's going to be more of like a mindset episode today. So mindset hacks, I'm gonna give you some strategies and things that I did, you know, feel free, if it resonates with you, my hope is that this is going to help you really have like a shift in the way you're currently doing business to really help you step up to that full potential that I know you have inside of you.

I really first learned the power of actually optimizing something like staying with one thing long enough to make it work. And I did that with Groupon. Like I had to keep doing revisions and revisions and working with the Groupon team. But I finally got this Groupon to were like we were frickin it was producing, like, you know, it was like 49 bucks or something to get somebody to come to my outdoor boot camp. And we ended up having great retention, a that's beside the point of the story. But we had of growing the 50 clients like we filled up 50 clients out in this local frickin Park. Right? And right when things are going amazingly well and this is where I'm gonna get a little vulnerable. I don't normally share stuff like this, you know, but I think it's very helpful for the context and you'll see why in just a second. Right when things are going really well, and I started to grow this, this boot camp business where I thought I can make it, like more full time, I got a DUI. And like, it was just a terrible experience. It was an amazing lesson for me personally because I've learned a lot. I learned a lot from, you know, in the last decade.

Well, you know what, we can maybe work something out, but you got to pay us. And they want it like something ridiculous. Like, I think 30% or 70% of my profits are it was like, really, it was insane. And I was like, There's no way I could give you that money. Like, literally I won't be able to like I'll go broke my business. And so I ended up saying, You know what, whatever I found I found this like old abandon outside hockey, like an outdoor hockey rink, this roller hockey was really big in South Florida, where I grew up, and I found this old hockey rink. And so we started to like do boot camps outside of the rink. And in all these things, right? What will happen is the YMCA was across the street, they started calling the city when the happening is these cops showed up. This is where the cops come in. If you read the headline of this, the cops that were shut would show up. And they would like literally send out spies in the city to like try to bust us and shut us down. And I was just like, You know what, no, like, I will not comply. I will not write.

Why does this happen? Right? Because I freaking book 300 calls, like, okay, of course, it's gonna happen, right? But I consciously control doing that. I was like, let me ask people if they want to get on a call, right? You can do the exact same thing. And if you're like, dude, I'm just I don't know how to do this. This is where you need support, right? This is where you need mentorship. And if you're getting mentorship and you're just still not doing it, then that's the problem that comes back to you taking 100% responsibility and saying and self-integrity. Another thing that you can get better at is expanding your network, right? Like when the city tried to shut my gym down. When the cops came out when they tried to shut my gym. What did I do? I went inbuilt relationships, I expanded my network, I got in front of more people, I frickin became the president of a referral group in the Chamber of Commerce. I became an ambassador with the chamber. I went in met the mayor, I went to his frickin cafe, I went and met commissioners like I went and expanded my network with the people that I with the right people, which at the time, were my ideal audience, they were my ideal clients. How can you have conscious control over that you can get better at expanding your network, you can do these things, right? And I know I'm going on a little rant here, and I'm okay with that. Somebody out there maybe it's you listening right now, are ready to hear this. And this is what you need to hear to move forward. Because it's not the strategy. It's not the frickin tactic. You want the like the guru, like the common guru advice to grow, and especially an online business, they're like, oh, create a Facebook group, join Facebook groups, go fishing, you know, 50 friends, 50 people a day DM those people like blah, blah, blah, it's like the strategy and tactics are there. That's not what's missing. You don't need a new framework, you don't need a strategy, you are not one funnel away. Just like somebody is not one diet away from changing their life. Right? What you need is to understand that you have to take 100% responsibility, and you have to take control of what you can control. Like, you know, and I'm sharing, I'm being vulnerable and sharing a lot of this stuff. You know, like, every time my business literally hits, like, it's happened quite a bit. And if it hasn't happened to you, it will, right, I hope I'm just being real right now. Like, literally, I've had my business make multiple six figures, and then all of a sudden it crashes down. Do you know what I do? Instead of like, hiding, I will dropdown. Recently, I was going through a lot of struggle, and I'm just gonna be real. Like I hit myself I hit a wall. I was just like, I'm not in my mind my subconscious like I'm not freaking worthy. I don't know what the heck I was doing. But I literally self sabotage myself all the way down to I was in debt again. Right? What do I do? I freakin hire somebody I spent 7k I think maybe more 7k to hire a coach a mentor, right? Because that's the kind of entrepreneur I am. And that's the kind of entrepreneur you've got to be if you want to succeed. It's like when you are back against the wall and Mike Tyson is coming in at your face.
" It's not the strategy. It's not the frickin tactic.
