How can we live safer, cleaner and more sustainably?
What can we learn about social bias from living in community?
Meet Penny Clark, co-founder of Conscious Coliving, a consultancy agency supporting the design and growth of the global co-living industry.
It's June 5th 2020 and we record this podcast between Vancouver, Canada and London, England.
Penny and I address the state of COVID19 and how coliving operators are addressing health and safety issues in addition to the lessons we learn during the social injustice protests happening around the world since the killing of George Floyd.

They say Porto Alegre is one of the Brazilian cities with more European influence, where many traditions descends from Italy and Germany as it does an Argentinian and Uruguayan influence. But Ricardo prides Oka on it's Native Brazilian culture and beliefs.
With shared kitchen and living spaces, Oka rents rooms in large townhomes. With tenancy generally at full-capacity, Oka is on it's path for expansion averaging 1.5 year stays from members who tend to be local.

A young man from Knoxville, Tennessee has been studying in Malaysia at the Asia School of Business where he was awarded a grant to travel the world studying on the future of shared living. Connor Moore is now a bright, energized Coliving Expert entering the industry at an interesting time of COVID19. But there is proof from his research that this growing industry will continue to answer some of our modern living, sustainability, mental health and affordability issues all around the world. We touch on some of Connor's notable community brands to look out for while he drives home the importance and value community has for all people, as we are told the opposite, to hide and stay at home. Well we are here to tell you that, home is where you choose it to be, and coliving may be flexible living but it is also longer-stay than any overnight hotel or weekly stay. Coliving is defined by community. Most coliving tenants stay on average 6-months after experiencing the benefits of support.

Battling with depression is something I have come to realize I will face for the rest of my lifetime. It's what and how I choose to do with it is really up to me. Moving into community living, in sunny southern California worked wonders for me. Specifically in HAVEN co-living. Branded as a health & wellness community, I found like-minded people to enjoy my day-to-day life with. People who were happy to wake-up and engage with each other over coffee, work, exercise, beach or activities. Anything is possible in HAVEN, at least that is the vibe when living amongst 100 housemates across four properties and eight houses! This is me at my peek happiness. A good three months of it which in depression, is equal to a lifetime. Something I won't trade for the world. I can only share my experience and promote this style of living for anyone who is struggling with their own happiness. Please share and tell a friend!

In coliving community we share space, we share amenities, we share dishes and fridge space...but we don't always share our food. Not Eve! Apparently eating and drinking alone without sharing is considered rude in Russian culture. Our darling resident Russian, Evengeli, explains why.
