  • Episode 228: Chiseling the Cave Wall
    We play a quick game of "is that soda or beer" and Steven is shocked to learn something about Devon. The InSight lander landed on Mars. Devon talks about it's journey and what it's expected to do while on Mars. How can we build a time capsule to survive all forms of apocalypses? We talk about several options, most of which have a fatal flaw. Devon watched both Downsizing and Sorry to Bother You, both tangentially science fiction movies. Steven is still reading "The Dark Forest" and is glad that he is.

  • Episode 227: Sci-Fi Pie Guy
    Devon is going to a friend’s house to party for Thanksgiving, but now they all have kids. Steven is going to have a more traditional Thanksgiving. Devon has been reading a dinosaur book: The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs by Stephen L. Brusatte. Devon then talks about an article about the discovery of the earliest long necked dinosaur. Smart car technology can save drivers $6.2 billion on fuel each year. Steven is playing Fallout 76. We are both still playing Red Dead Redemption and enjoying it.

    Devon went to a Jurassic Quest where he saw life sized dinosaurs. Devon has been living with the effects of the CA fires as the air has been smoked filled for a week+. The air quality in the bay area is the worst in the world at the time of this recording. Steven tells us about current conspiracy theories about the CA fires. Devon read Light of The Stars: Alien Worlds and the Fate of the Earth by Adam Frank. With the little extra time we have we discuss the non-science/non-scifi game Red Dead Redemption II.

  • Episode 220: Agonia, Behavioral, Confrontation
    We start off this week talking about Sunday (since we recorded on one) and Truckasaurus. Scientists turn the Zika virus against brain cancer. Building blocks for life on Earth may have been created in space. Steven re-watched Solo and really enjoyed it the second time. We struggle to define Maniac, the new mini-series on Netflix. Steven is still reading The Three Body Problem and has some interesting things to say about it's translation into English.
