Last week's admin controversy spills over into this week's episode as Chris struggles to become our Social Media Officer, and then eventually we talk about Space Jam because a sequel came out about 48 years ago and we're just getting round to it. Elsewhere, Chris recommends a futurist, Alex has got a quiz, and Sam pitches the InsuranceVerse.
Despite what we say at the end of the episode, next week Mel Gibson runs around a house in Signs!

It's part 2 of our Earth-stopping double bill! This time, Keanu Reeves is playing to his 'strengths' as emotionless blank slate Klaatu and Jennifer Connelly is the most loosely defined scientist we've seen in some time.
Join us to learn some maths, find out where the only blue McDonald's in the world is, and what happens to cats when the apocalypse comes.
Next week, it's, er, Space Jam. Yup.

Season 3 (or maybe 4?) begins as we reach episode 201 and start a classic remake double bill. This week, it's the 1951 original The Day The Earth Stood Still. Listen as we discuss what olden days people thought about UFOs, how most tropes are older than we think, and the ethics around Alex moving into Sam's caravan park whilst owning a gun.
Next week, we see how Keanu Reeves gets on as Klaatu 2 in the 2008 remake!

(this episode originally went up 12th May 2019 - it's been rescued from the abyss but put back out of order for boring admin reasons!)
Endgame was a big deal, like a really big deal, so we ride Disney's coattails a little further with a spoiler-filled discussion of our thoughts on this year's biggest budget blockbuster. Who knows how we'll feel in five years when we rank it for real, probably around the time Avengers XII: Muppet Babies Vs. Dr. Doom is in cinemas.
And again, spoilers. You have been warned. Twice.

Our winter break is over and we're back from Disney's Make a Wish theatre with our thoughts on the first three episodes of The Mandalorian. Spoilers galore as we give initial thoughts on the series, and also slight spoilers for The Rise of Skywalker because we get into that, too.

We're back! After weeks of travel and turmoil the three of us finally reconvene to record our 200th episode! 200!? Yes, it's a bit mad. Four years and 6 months after we started we finally have an occasion momentous enough to justify watching the wonderful/terrible Alien³! Well, we actually watch the 'Special Edition' (or 'Assembly Room'/'Workprint') version of the film as this one of the few occasions that a special edition makes enough difference to demand we watch it. We explain it all on the pod, don't worry.
Next week, we start the road to episode 300 with the 1951 sci-fi classic (?) The Day The Earth Stood Still!

The countdown to 200 reaches its terrifying conclusion with Chris' pick for favourite film. Sam and Alex finish their nostalgia quizzes, get off topic with Fast & Furious and reveal what film we'll be watching on episode 200!
(If this isn't your thing, don't worry - we'll be back with new films from episode 200 onwards!)

What does the name Midnight Special bring to mind? A cocktail? A club night? A group activity banned in several countries? Surprise! It's none of those, it's a film about a kid with weird eyes being chased across America by the feds and a cult. Seriously, if anyone knows why this film is called what it is, please let us know.
Next week, the start of a double bill of Earth stopping, it's The Day The Earth Stood Still! (The old one)
