Today, Feb 8 1587, Mary Queen of Scots was brutally executed by beheading. She had spent the last 19 years of her life in an English prison sentenced by Queen Elizabeth 1. In captivity she wrote letter to her supporters, mainly to French ambassador Michel de Castelnau de Mauvissiere in England.

Operation Groundhog Day

Feb 2, 2023. Groundhog day. We are all familiar with the famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil emerging from his sub-terrain home to predict the weather forecast for the next 6 weeks. But what is not so widely known, according to declassified documents, back in 1961 the CIA planned an operation with the same name. The mission, to use mind control and hypnosis on a group of individuals so that they would have an uncontrollable impulse to ‘commit a nuisance’ on Groundhog Day. There was no reports that this operation ever took place.

The CIA isn't one to pass up an opportunity to gain an advantage over their advisories, even if that opportunity involves turning cats into spies. Back in the 1960's during the hight of the Cold War, the CIA began working on a new ways to spy on Russia. And so Project Acoustic Kitty was born. Project Acoustic Kitty would involved implanting a small microphone inside the cat's ear canal, and a small radio transmitter at the base of its skull, and a thin wire into its fur.

Alien Signal Detected
An alien signal was detected by India's Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope. The extraterrestrial radio signal was detected from 9 billion light-years away. Unfortunately astronomers don't think it's from aliens but emissions from star-forming galaxy named "SDSSJ0826+5630." This is significant because it is the furthest signal ever detected.

NASA "Day of Remembrance"
Feb 1 will mark the 20th anniversary of the space shuttle Columbia's disaster. Feb 1 2003 just mins before being safely returned to the Kennedy Space Center the shuttle suffered a cataclysmic failure.

The cause of the Columbia disaster was a piece of insulating foam that broke loose from the shuttle's external propellant tank and struck the leading edge of the left wing soon after liftoff, damaging protective tiles.

In honour of the crew of Columbia and all the astronauts who have been killed in the line of duty to further space exploration, NASA has marked Jan 26 as NASA "Day of Remembrance"

Mosul Orb
In 2016 the US military allegedly filmed a metallic looking ball moving along side a spy plane in the Iraqi city of Mosul. Now dubbed the Mosul Orb. The object is filmed moving beside the plane without dropping altitude.

The video was part of an incident report included on a classified briefing to Congress by the Pentagon's UAP task force.

The video shows the object seemingly looking like it is under intelligent control. Weather or not the video is authentic show a UAP, this would be the first time the military filmed an UAP inside an active conflict zone.

Earlier this month Russia allegedly shot down a very similar looking object.

FBI Agent Arrested with ties to a Russian Oligarch
In a strange turn of events one of the FBI agents that was investigating Former President Donald Trump's alleged ties to Russia has found himself on the receiving end of a criminal investigation. Former FBI agent Charles McGonigal has been arrested for allegedly having ties to the Russian Oligarch Oleg Deripaska. McGonigal retired from the FBI in 2018 and according to CBS he was arrested at New York's JFK airport after returning to the US from Sri Lanka. He is being charged with violating US sanctions by attempting to have Deripaska removed from the sanctions list.

Doomsday Clock
The largely symbolic Doomsday clock moved 10 sec closer to midnight. Now sitting at 90sec to the end of the world. The time change was announced Tuesday morning. The clock has remained at 100 sec to midnight since 2020. But recent events between Russia and the Ukraine among other world events have forced the clock forward 10 seconds.

Earth's Core

A new study from Peking University in China is suggesting that in 2019 the Earth's core stopped spinning before beginning again, except now it is spinning in the opposite direction. The Earth's core is surrounded by a fluid of molten iron and nickel that is 1500 miles thick an is located 3100 miles below the surface.
Is this something we should be worried about? Is it going to bring on the end of the world? Not likely since the Earth's core seems to spin in cycles over a 60 year period. The core switches direction roughly every 35 years.
According to scientists the length of the day will be extended by a fraction of a millisecond over 12 months.

New Big Foot Video
New footage has surfaced of an apparent big foot caught on video in California back in the 70's. This recently discovered VHS tape shows a large dark figure crossing in front of the car where the video was shot. Unfortunately the man who shot the video passed away and not much else is know.
