Nicolaus is an Indonesian pilot, who has been flying around the world through Air Asia for the past 7 years. He practices landscape & wedding photography in his free time. When the pandemic hit everyone, Nicolaus went more in depth into street photography, he started getting freelance jobs when people saw him taking photos on the street. For him, photography is not only about the camera, but also about the approach of people and the stories behind the photos. Nicolaus loves to explore Indonesia and gives us some insights on his favorite spots & the culture there. 

Isaac Brady is a photographer, videographer & musician from Birmingham, Alabama. He is currently focusing on his clothing line. Isaac always had a spiritual connection with god, he tries to showcase it through his work along with representing how the world depicts civil rights. Isaac also shares with us how some people like MLK, Fred Hansen, Angela Davis and many more, continue to inspire him every day. 

Basima Husseini is a self-taught 22 years old photographer from Syria 🇸🇾, she started photography when she was 13 when she realized that wrong information is being spread about her country through the media. Basima wanted to spread the right message to the world, so she graduated from university with a media degree, and now she’s planning on spreading her messages through her films.

German Matviuk, born in Argentina 🇦🇷, currently living in Germany, is a photographer who not only likes one specific style in photography, but he likes to experiment and discover diverse styles. Ever since he moved to Germany five years ago, he collaborated with his neighbors who he never knew that they are photographers as well! German has done wedding, portrait, landscape, and street photography, and still discovering more, he shares with us his experience and tips on mastering your photography skills.

Seier Askaryar, photographer and filmmaker born and raised in Holland 🇳🇱has studied Cinematography and Video Editing at the New York Film Academy. Having been living in the Canary Islands for more than 14 years, he is surrounded by natural beauty and interesting people. He uses his camera to document the world and then print images with a focus on the magic he finds in daily life. “I believe there is a story in every picture and every frame I edit.” Ever since the lockdown started, Seier decided to experience the touristic island during that time to enjoy peace in those areas for the first time, having his camera with him as well proved to the locals how beautiful a tourist place can be when it’s empty. Rachel Pregunta is a travel blogger from the Philippines. She runs along with her partner Ruben Arribas, the Gamintraveler Instagram account. They started it at first to generate additional traffic to their website but then they realized that they can grow much more on Instagram, that’s why they built their business using both social media and blog. Rachel shares with us how COVID-19 affected their travel plans. One of Rachel’s favorite destinations is Portugal and France mainly because the architecture is very different than what she usually sees in Asia. The gamintraveler focused a lot on the content of their blog at first, to drive companies to advertise on their website, they relied a lot on SEO work and research but when Instagram started, they also concentrated on influencer (partnerships in sponsorships) & tourism work. They were also able to create their own social media agency, helping therefore small entrepreneurs grow their brands. Rachel talks about how important it is to make your brand personal, the challenges she and other couple influencers usually face and how important it is to network with different communities. She is hoping to highlight the beauty of the Philippine islands more and she recommends going to Instagram and Pinterest to search for new places to explore.

Phuong Tran is a young copywriter from Saigon, Vietnam. Street photography has always been one of his hobbies. Phuong tries to show in his photos how both China in Southeast Asia and France have influenced the Vietnamese culture, he follows his instincts, take shots of whatever he finds interesting and attractive. For Phuong, catching a photo is “all about the sensitivity that you may have, and you may develop yourself throughout the time”. He tries to get the consent of the people he shoots after he takes their photo to keep it natural. Phuong’s main goal is to publish a book about his photos that combines his street, nightlife, food, and architectural photography.

“I Believe every animal can be friendly with you.“ said Nick Gračner, a 19 years old photographer from Slovenia 🇸🇮, who discovered photography when he graduated from high school, he didn’t know what to do after he graduated, but he got addicted to photography the first time he held a camera. Wildlife photography became Nik’s favorite, it was nature that fascinated him, the beauty of each detail, he made sure to capture them all by taking a lot of photos. He finds it very challenging, sometimes it takes him hours to find what he is looking for that is why he must be patient. Nik is currently trying to explore his hometown as much as he can since he can’t get out much due to the spread of the coronavirus. His main goal is to shoot the wildlife for living and tries to take photos of bigger animals such as deers. Nik’s favorite animal is the owl, he finds it very interesting and would love to take photos of it someday.

Mayo’s main goal is to help people help each other. It started with a simple idea that the people nearby each other are the people who can help each other the most. Megan, the Chief Marketing Officer of Mayo goes more in depth about the application with our founder, Christina. The marketing leader has over ten years of experience building campaigns for global brands such as Amazon and Microsoft. She emphasizes on how “technology has given so many avenues for communication, but it has also made us feel even further apart from our communities and our neighbors.” That is why Mayo seeks to remove these social barriers, it allows people to ask and offer help by connecting the nearest people to each other who can help the quickest. Some interns started testing Mayo while they were still in University before Lockdown, but they had to stop when COVID-19 came along. In these tough times, launching the application according to Megan could be beneficiary for the people that need help but they’re still trying to figure out their userbase that’s why it’s kept as a beta version.

Parsa known as Pelan is a Persian rapper who mainly raps about social issues, his country, its people, and the situation in his country. Parsa expresses his feelings & thoughts through his art but he faces a lot of challenges since Persia treats rappers just like thieves mainly because of the religious & political believes & rules. Parsa shares with us one of his songs, he also reveals his plan to shoot a music video for a song from his upcoming album that roam around enjoying the little moments in life.
