Scott Roche's Omniverse

This is the audio version of my Southern Gothic/Grimdark mashup. I hope you enjoy it!

I’m thinking of calling these audio shorts “Scott’s Sliders”.

This week’s story is brought to us by JG Langejans. He’s an excellent Canadian and a frequent contributor to the New Fiction Writers’ Podcast.

Dmitri and Piotr have a gentleman’s agreement to meet four times a year. Well it’s a gentleman’s agreement if a vampire and a werewolf can be called gentlemen. Piotr has missed it and it’s up to Dmitri to rescue him at the risk of exposing their secrets.

This story takes place in Lumiere, a shared universe I helped create with some writers from CHUD.com. That’s the same universe that the Grim Reader stories and a few other “EC Comics” type of stories take place in.

A writer confronts his past and present and finds out why he’s still in this strange place.

It’s voiced by Keith Murray.

I wrote this to see if I could pull off a colonial Steampunk story.

Mehta, tired of being mistreated by the British occupiers, sees an opportunity to destroy their latest steam powered monstrosity, though it may cost him his life.

This is the first story written by Zach Ricks and I as part of our Aethelian Age series. Think Steampunk + Magic + Alt History. It’s available on Smashwords and Amazon.

Norris longed for adventure when he joined the service of his country. Floating through the frigid air above the Alps and trading unlikely stories wasn’t exactly his idea of fun though and he wished for something to break the monotony, anything. Little did he know that just beyond a distant pass lay the fulfillment of that wish. Were the rumors of dragons tamed by local privateers just that? Will Norris and his crew mates have the wizardry skill needed to overcome the obstacles ahead?

It’s voiced by Veronica Giguere and Jim Perry.

They say there’s some truth at the core of every story, even the most absurd ones. That comes back to haunt a publisher of such tales.
