When we come to faith in Jesus Christ, when my heart cries out to Him and I am born again, I begin a journey toward a destination. My role as pastor, and our role as a congregation, is to foster an environment that initiates that journey and inspires people toward that destination. To do so, I believe we must clearly articulate the destination…the goal. So what is the goal? That Christ be formed in us.

Weve been looking at the subject of a transformed life and asking the questions, What is that? What does it mean? How does it happen? In this message we take Pauls statement in 1 Timothy that the goal of his instruction is love from a pure heart. And that is the transformed life...a pure heart, a changed heart, walking in love.

Our Mission: Transforming lives through encounter with Jesus Christ. Transformed from what and to what? What does it mean to be transformed? How is it accomplished? We unpack that statement in this message.

A passionate look at what and who we are to be. The church is the hope of the world! We are to be a life-transforming community of faith...facilitating life change through faith in Jesus Christ.

One of the central truths of Scripture and the Christian life...the cross, the crucified life, or a better term, the cross-formed life. Jesus spoke of the cross as a way of life before the crucifixion...it wasnt until after the crucifixion that the disciples began to understand what he was talking about. So, when Jesus says that we are to take up our cross daily and follow Him, what does He mean? The biggest hindrance to spiritual growth is being content with anything less than Christ-likeness.

Im engaged in the passionate pursuit of the presence of Christ...this message is an unpacking of what that means and an invitation to join in that pursuit.

We are to be conquerors, overcomers, victors! We are to crush the enemy...the world, the flesh, and the devil. It comes through faith, but we must have a victor mentality.

The final message in the series, Soul Care. Our focus has been on how do I put myself in that place of opportunity to experience Gods blessing and goodness.

The past few weeks we have looked at Tools of the Spiritual Life and specifically, The Word of God and Worship. Today we add other spiritual disciplines to our spiritual tool belt, the discipline of prayer, fasting, giving, and serving.

Worship is one of the tools of the spiritual life...but more than a tool, worship is to be a lifestyle. So what is worship? It is first and foremost to ascribe to God the glory due His name. We do it individually and corporately. It is more than music, but certainly includes it. It is not passive, but participative.
